2/20 when World Class Championship Wrestling left the NWA, Rude was declared the first World Class Championship Wrestling World Champion
5/4 Parade of Champions - beat Bruiser Brody by DQ
7/4 Independence Day Star Wars - lost the WCCW World Championship to Chris Adams
11/27 Starrcade - beat Wahoo McDaniel in an Indian Strap Match
12/6 - w/Manny Fernandez beat the Rock-n-Roll Express to win the NWA Tag Team Championship

4/10 Crockett Cup - w/Manny Fernandez beat The Thunderfoots
4/11 Crockett Cup - Quarter-finals: w/Manny Fernandez lost to Dusty Rhodes & Nikita Koloff
5/26 - w/Manny Fernandez lost the titles to the Rock-n-Roll Express in a phanthom title change (no match actually took place because Rude had already left the company)

2/20 Superbrawl - Thundercage Match: Sting, Brian Pillman, & Dustin Rhodes beat Steve Austin, Rick Rude, & Paul Orndorff
3/16 - lost the WCW International Title to Hiro Hase
3/24 - regained the WCW International World Title from Hiro Hase
4/17 Spring Stampede - lost the WCW International Title to Sting
5/1 - regained the WCW International Championship from Sting but suffered a career ending injury during the match. Because of this, the decision of the match was later reversed and Rude was disqualified. After retiring, he became a manager in the WWE, ECW, and WCW.

1997


  • 11/17 - became the only person to appear on WWE Monday Night RAW & WCW Monday Nitro the same night (excluding the night where WWE bought WCW)

1999


  • 4/20 - Rick Rude passed away at the age of 40 after suffering heart failure
