Bolded items represent title victories while italicized items represent title losses. Please note that prior to entering the world of wrestling, David was famous for being a reality TV star. He is currently engaged to and has a child with Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Hudson.

2007
David was one of the contestants on season 2 of the VH1 reality TV show I Love New York. He was given the nickname of Punk and was eliminated in the next to final show of the season.

2010
2/23 - NXT Season 1 began with David Otunga being mentored by R-Truth
6/1 - David Otunga finished in second place while Wade Barrett was declared the winner of WWE NXT Season 1
8/15 SummerSlam - Team WWE (John Cena, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Edge, John Morrison, R-Truth, and Daniel Bryan) beat The Nexus (Wade Barrett, Darren Young, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver, and Skip Sheffield) in an Elimination Match
10/24 Bragging Rights - John Cena and David Otunga won the WWE Tag Team Championship from Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre
10/25 RAW - John Cena & David Otunga lost the titles to Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel
