Guerrero Family Tree

By , About.com Guide

The Guerrero family is one of the most important families in wrestling history and have been a part of the industry for three generations. This article will explain how the family members that went into the wrestling business are all related (or not) to each other.

Gory Guerrero

Gory Guerrero is the patriarch of the family. He was one of the biggest stars in the early days of lucha libre and he was part of a tag team with the most important star in lucha libre history, El Santo. Their team was called Pareja Atómic. He has been credited with creating the camel clutch, gory bomb, and the widow's peak. He was followed into the sport by his four sons. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 69.

Chavo Guerrero Sr.

Chavo is the oldest son of Gory. He is most familiar to newer wrestling fans as Chavo Classic, a former WWE Cruiserweight champion that always interfered for his son Chavo Jr. During his career, he was a star in the UWF, AWA, Japan, and several NWA territories.

Hector Guerrero

Hector, the second eldest son of Gory Guerrero, is most famous for being forced to portray possibly the worst gimmicks in the history of both the WWE and the NWA. In the WWE, he wrestled as the Gobbledy Gooker, a turkey-like creature that hatched from an egg. In the NWA, he was known as Lazor-Tron, a character based upon the popular laser tag game in the '80s. Over the past few years, Hector has been a part of Total Nonstop Action as a commentator and a manager of the LAX.

Mando Guerrero

Mando, the third-youngest of the Guerrero brothers, spent the majority of his career wrestling in the California territory. The most famous stint in his career was when he appeared in the AWA in the late '80s. Mando teamed up with his Hector and Chavo in both six-man tag team action and in regular tag team action where the brothers were unable to capture the AWA tag team titles from Badd Company.

Eddie Guerrero was the youngest of the four Guerrero brothers. He went on to become one of the most beloved figures in wrestling history. The highlight of his career was winning the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004. Eddie passed away in 2005 and his death prompted the WWE to create the Wellness Program.
