Events leading to this match: These former friends fought in a three-way match which also included Samoa Joe for the title last month. AJ won that match by pinning Samoa Joe. However, Samoa Joe was in the position to be beaten due to Daniel's hitting the Best Moonsault Ever.

Rules of the Match: There will be 4 poles attached to the ring and at the top of each one is a briefcase. Three of them have will grant the holder a title shot whenever they want in the next year. One contains a contract for a TNA Heavyweight Championship match, another has a contract for an X Division title shot, and the third case has a contract for a tag team title match. The fourth briefcase has a pink slip and the man that grabs that suitcase will be fired.
