Intro:

William Jason Reso was born on November 30, 1973 in Orangeville, Ontario. When he was growing up, one of his best friends was Adam Copeland, who wrestling fans know as Edge. He was trained by Ron Hutchison and made his pro debut in 1994. He originally used the name Christian Cage when he was starting out in the indy territories of Canada. He married his wife Denise in 2001 and currently lives in Tampa, FL.

The Brood:

Christian debuted in the WWE in late 1988. He was aligned with Gangrel (a gothic vampire like character), who at the time was feuding with his “brother” Edge. In his first official WWF match, he won the light heavyweight championship. Edge eventually joined The Brood which was led by Gangrel. They eventually spilt from Gangrel and dropped the gothic image.

Christian & Edge:

Edge and Christian became full time partners in the summer of 99. The team won the tag team titles an unprecedented 7 times. They had a classic three way feud with the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz. The most historic battles in this feud were the TLC (Tables, Ladders, & Chairs) matches. In addition to these brutal matches, the team was also known for their humorous antics (5 second flash photography) and some classic comedy moments with then-commissioner Mick Foley.

The Breakup:

In June 2001, Edge won the King of the Ring and this planted the seed of jealousy that would break up the team. In September 2001, the two men were feuding over the Intercontinental Title. Around this time, he joined the Alliance of WCW & ECW in their feud with the WWE. The next year, he joined The UnAmericans which also included Lance Storm and Test.

Chris Jericho & Intercontinental Champion:

In 2003, he was involved in the Intercontinental Title scene. He also struck up a friendship with Chris Jericho. In 2004, Chris Jericho developed feelings for Trish Stratus and Christian was disgusted by this. They fought at WrestleMania XX and Trish turned on Jericho. With Trish by his side and Tyson Tomko as their problem solver, they set out to make life miserable for Jericho. That summer, Christian had to take some time off for injuries.

The Peep Show:

To mock Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel, he hosted The Peep Show which was a talk show in the tradition of Piper's Pit. He was drafted by SmackDown in 2005 and appeared to be getting a push as Captain Charisma. Copyright issues over the name came up and his push was stopped. In November 2005, Christian left the WWE.

TNA:

Unable to wrestle as Christian in TNA, he went back to one of his original wrestling names, Christian Cage. He arrived in late 2005 and set his sights on Jeff Jarrett and the NWA World Title. On February 12, 2006, Christian beat Jeff Jarrett to win the NWA World Title at the main event of Against All Odds. Eleven months later, he became a two-time champion when he beat the champion Abyss and Sting in an Elimination Match.

Return to the WWE:

Christian returned to the WWE in 2009 as just Christian. Upon his return to the company, he started wrestling for the ECW brand of the company. Within a few weeks, he won the ECW Championship from Jack Swagger.
