5/25/06 TNA:iMPACT Recap

By Eric Cohen, About.com

Senshi vs Alex Shelley vs Jay Lethal vs Shark Boy – This X Division match was being sponsored by X Men 3. This is a major step up in sponsors from Morphoplex for TNA. Senshi (formerly known as Low Ki) looked really impressive in his return to iMPACT!. Senshi gave Lethal a double foot stomp off the top rope to get the win. After the match, Kevin Nash came into the ring and delivered the jackknife to Lethal. Alex Shelley videotaped the attack on his Shelley Cam. Winner: Senshi

- Jeremy Borash is in the back and talks about how no one knows who will be facing each other in tonight’s King of the Mountain qualifier.

AJ Styles & Chris Daniels vs Diamonds in the Rough (Skipper/Young) w/Simon Diamond – Before the match starts, footage from the tag team title match between Styles and Daniels against America’s Most Wanted at Sacrifice is shown. When it appears that Daniels was about to pin Young after hitting the Angels Wing, America’s Most Wanted came out. Chris Harris hit Daniels with the night stick when the ref was distracted and rolled Young on top of the unconscious Daniels. Winners: Diamonds in the Rough

- Sting is interviewed by Jeremy Borash and says that all he cares about is beating Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner.

- Team 3D’s music plays and they come to the ring. Only it is not Team 3D, it is The James Gang dressed up as them. They do a great impersonation of The James Gang. This scene is very reminiscent of what they did a few years ago in the WWF. As part of D-X, they did a similar skit mocking the Nation of Domination that was one of the many highlights of the WWF Attitude era.

- Jeremy Borash interviews Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner. Steiner starts talking about how he wants to beat up Sting and if Samoa Joe ever looks at him the wrong way again, he is going to snap.

Bobby Roode w/Scott D’Amore vs Andy Douglas – This is Andy Douglas’s return to the ring since Scott Steiner attacked him a few months ago. Bobby Roode wins the match cleanly with the Northern Lariat. After the match, Roode and D’Amore try to attack Douglas with a chair. Chase Stevens comes out to save his partner but then Team Canada came out and beat up The Naturals with the 4 on 2 advantage. Rhino came out to beat up Team Canada. After clearing Team Canada from the ring, Rhino announced that at Slammiversary he will be facing Bobby Roode and Coach D’Amore. At the end of the segment, Shane Douglas is shown at the top of the ramp looking at The Naturals for the second week in a row. Winner: Bobby Roode

- Jeremy Borash interviews Ron “The Truth” Killings

King of the Mountain Qualifier: Monty Brown vs Ron Killings – NWA World Champion Christian Cage is at ringside doing commentary for this match. This is Monty’s first televised in several months due to injury. When it looked like he was going to hit the pounce to get the win, Killings faked out Monty and rolled him up for a surprise cradle to get the win and a spot in the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary. Winner: Ron Killings

Match Results:

    - Senshi beat Alex Shelley, Jay Lethal, and Shark Boy
    - The Diamonds in the Rough beat AJ Styles & Chris Daniels
    - Bobby Roode beat Andy Douglas
