6/30/06 Friday Night SmackDown! Recap

- Mark Henry cuts an in-ring promo about how he should be the world champion. After insulting the Guerrero name and Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero enters the ring and gets beaten up. Chavo’s friend, World Champion Rey Mysterio, tries to help but Mark Henry destroys the World Champion also.

Cruiserweight Champion: Champion Gregory Helms vs Super Crazy – When Super Crazy is in control of the match, Psicosis enters the ring and goes after his former Mexicool partner Super Crazy. After a brief brawl between the former Mexicools, Psicosis is forced to flee the ring. Winner: No Contest

The Pit Bulls (Kid Kash & Jamie Knoble) vs Malik Yamah & Marty Garner – This is the SD debut for The Pit Bulls. Both members of the team are former cruiserweight champions. These Pitbulls have no relation to the team formerly known by that name in ECW. As far as their gimmick, both men come to the ring with a chain on a dog collar attached to their necks. Their finishing move is a variation of the Road Warrior’s Doomsday Device. Winners: The Pit Bulls

- Kristal interviews Ashley about the upcoming Diva Search contest. Kristal gets very angry during the interview because she finished in the top 4 last year and Ashley mistakenly said Top 10.

Matt Hardy vs Finlay – During the match, Finlay’s leprechaun gave JBL a can of Guiness. During the match, Finlay exposed a turnbuckle. When the ref was distracted with the shillelagh, Finlay dropped Matt’s head on the exposed turnbuckle and hit the Celtic Cross for the victory. Winner: Finlay

- Highlights of The Miz on Fear Factor are shown.

Mr. Kennedy vs Gunner Scott – Prior to the match. Kennedy grabs the ring mic to insult the fans, Gunner, and do the proper ring introduction for himself. Mr. Kennedy easily wins the match with the Kenton Bomb. Before he gets the chance to properly declare himself the winner, The Great Kahli comes out. Kennedy runs out of the ring and The Great Kahli destroys the nearly unconscious Gunner Scott. The Great Kahli and Daivari then put Gunner into a body bag to mock The Undertaker. Daivari then makes a challenge for The Great American Bash. He challenges The Undertaker to a Punjabi Prison Match. Winner: Mr. Kennedy………………Kennedy

- Footage of Vito shopping for a new dress at K-Mart is shown.

Vito vs Simon Dean – Several times during the match, Vito’s dress comes up and UPN blurs his backside. Vito wins when he shoves Simon’s head under the dress which causes Simon to tap out. Winner: Vito

- A vignette of Quebec’s nightlife is hosted by Ambassador Sylvan.

Steel Cage Match for the U.S. Title: Champ Lashley vs King Booker w/Sharmell, William Regal, & Finlay - You can win this match by pinfall, submission, or escaping the cage and having both feet touch the floor. This is Lashley’s first ever steel cage match. The story of this match is the continual interference of King Booker’s subjects who keep stopping Lashley from exiting the steel cage. Despite all the obstacles aginst him, Lashley was able to escape the cage by climbing over the top to get the win. Winner: Lashley

- The show ends with a video proclaiming that Batista will be making his SmackDown! return next week.
