Intro
The first Judgment Day took place in October 1998 and was part of the In Your House PPV series. After being on hiatus in 1999, it returned in May 2000. The traditional May PPV event was Over the Edge but that name was retired after Owen Hart’s fatal accident during the 1999 event. From 2004 - 2006, the show was a SmackDown brand PPV event. In 2007, the PPV brand split ended.

Top 3 Judgment Day Moments
1 – The 2000 Iron Man match between The Rock and Triple H was undoubtedly the greatest battle between these two legends.
2 – The 2001 show featured Kurt Angle battle Chris Benoit in a best of 3 falls match that included a regular match, a submissions match, and a ladder match.
3 – In addition to the previously mentioned iron man match, the Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho submission match also took place on the 2000 card. As you can probably guess from this list, the 2000 show was the best of all the Judgment Day cards.

The Worst Moment in WWE History
In 1999, the WWE’s May PPV event was known as Over the Edge. On that show, Owen Hart lost his life in a freak accident. The harness that held him in the rafters of the arena malfunctioned and he plummeted into the ring below. The fans on the PPV and in the arena did not see the fall because there was a video interview of Owen being shown on the Titantron at that moment. He was carried out of the ring on a stretcher and was pronounced dead a short while later. The fans in attendance did not find out but the fans at home were informed of the horrible news. The show continued as if nothing happened. The next night on RAW was the Owen Hart tribute show.
