The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior DVD Review

This match is due to Randy Savage interfering in Warrior's Royal Rumble match with Sgt. Slaughter and costing Warrior the World title. The loser of this match must retire. Please note that the post-match activities involving Randy Savage, Queen Sherri and the return of Elizabeth are not shown on this DVD. The men brawl to start off. Warrior dominates the beginning until Queen Sherri interferes. A few minutes later Savage gives the Warrior 5 top rope elbow drops (when 1 has beaten everyone else). Warrior kicks out and regains his "power". After the press slam and splash, Savage kicks out. This leads to Warrior talking to his hands and to the sky asking about his destiny. Warrior leaves the ring. Savages follows him out, Savage follows him out and misses a top rope elbow drop to the floor. Warriors hands tell him to fight and he gives Savage a few shoulder tackles and pins the Macho King. Recommendation: Watch

AVOID - The 2 great matches (the only redeeming qualities of this disc)are ruined by the editing. The Savage match should have had the emotional reunion of Savage and Elizabeth on it and the Hogan match should have had Ventura's commentary (which is surprising because this match is available on the WrestleMania 18 DVD as a bonus with his commentary). If you really want to see these matches, wait a few months for the WrestleMania DVD collection to come out. At least it will have the full ending of the Savage match and possibly have Jesse Ventura's commentary on the Hogan match.
