Ring of Honor Bloodstained Honor DVD Review

On the day that this DVD was released, Ring of Honor also released Stars of Honor. While that DVD is all about the great wrestlers that wrestled in and then left Ring of Honor, this DVD features bloody matches. Many of the wrestlers on this DVD are still in the company and the matches on this DVD feature some recent action.

The word hardcore runs the gamut in wrestling. It can mean the ridiculous WWE style comedy matches that feature guys using cookie pans like in a Looney Toons cartoon and it can also mean the death-match style that features people mutilate each other with weed-whackers. This DVD features violence somewhere in the middle.

The hardcore action featured here features original ECW style-brawls. This DVD features lots of blood and mayhem. Just like those old-school ECW style brawls, the action goes into the crowd and the camera has a tough time keeping track of all the action going on around the ringside area.

My one major gripe with this DVD is that some of the matches have no commentary for portions of the match. Since this DVD is the first time that many fans have ever seen these wrestlers and since they don't know the feuds that are going on, it is very easy to get confused during some of the matches.

Overall Recommendation: Overall, I found this DVD enjoyable but there are a few moments in it that grossed me out. However, there are many readers that will not enjoy this type of action. If you like original ECW style brawls you will enjoy this DVD. If not, don't buy this DVD. If you are a parent, you may want to avoid buying this DVD for your child.
