Families have played a big part in wrestling history. This DVD takes a look at some of the most powerful families in the history of the business. Disc one contains a 2-plus hour documentary which focuses on 15 families. Matches are included on both discs that for the most part feature the families in action.
The Documentary
The documentary does not have to be watched in order. It is 15 different stories with a few segments added on to give the disc some continuity that are hosted by Carlito. As is to be expected, some of the stories are more interesting than others. One of the bright spots of this disc is that there is analysis provided by people that was not expected. I never thought that I would see Christian Cage talking on a WWE DVD since he is in TNA. This DVD becomes very emotional at spots. Vince McMahon came close to crying when talking about his father and everyone watching this will have a lump in their throat as they see Eddie Guerrero talking about his family. The only problem I have with this portion of this disc is the continual attempt to erase the legacy of Randy Savage from WWE history.
The Families Profiled on this DVD:
- The Orton Family
- The Guerrero Family

The Matches
The overall theme of the match selection is to get as many family members in a match as possible. Keeping this theme does not create the greatest match selection possible. As an example, of all the possible Rock matches to pick, his worst PPV match is on this DVD.
The Matches on this DVD:
- Peter Maivia & Jay Strongbow vs. Ali Baba & Baron Mikel Sciculana
- Curt Hennig vs. Greg Gagne
- The Rougeau Brothers vs. The Bushwhackers

Overall Recommendation
This DVD set is a mixed bag. While the documentary is interesting, the matches themselves leave a lot to be desired. I would recommend waiting for this to be on PPV as part of the Fanatic Series and ordering that.
