Having recently marked his 10-year anniversary working for the WWE, the WWE has released Edge: A Decade of Decadence on DVD. This 3-disc DVD set features 28 Edge matches.

Review and Recommendation

The Documentary: There is no documentary portion to this DVD. My feeling on these documentaries is that if there is already a DVD with a documentary about the star already on the market, I'm happy when I don't get another one. Unfortunately, there is no Edge documentary on the market and this DVD set would have benefited from one.

Transition from Match-to-Match: The DVD features Edge watching this DVD and occasionally commenting on his greatness at different times throughout the set. In addition, at certain times in the DVD there is a kind-of recap/preview of what is going on which is set up like a movie preview. These Rated R Superstar trailers try to be funny but the joke wears thin after the first one of these.

However, the majority of the transitions between matches just feature the date and opponent listed on the DVD. If you don't know why Edge is fighting someone or can't figure out why he is teaming with the person that he was just fighting with, tough luck trying to figure it out.

Editing Issue: Edge's theme that was sung by Rob Zombie does not appear on this DVD.

Overall Recommendation: This is a tough one for me to give either a thumbs up or a thumbs down to. On the one hand, I love the matches on the DVD and don't have an issue with the match selections. However, I have a major problem with the format of this DVD set. While I was not lost while watching the DVD because I am familiar with all the events that have happened in his career, it is very easy for those that haven't been die-hard WWE and Edge fans to wonder why certain matches are happening and why someone that he is enemies with in one match are his partner in the following match.

After giving this some tough analysis, I have to give this a thumbs up just for the matches on the DVD. However, I am disappointed with the laziness that the producers put into this disc and can't wholeheartedly endorse this set. Edge and his Edgeheads deserve better than what has been delivered in this set.
