Bret Hart DVD Review

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be - Page 2 of 2

By Eric Cohen, About.com

1997 – 1999 Singles Matches
The first match of this era shown is the Austin match from WM 13. This is a brutally bloody match that features the very rare double turn. This could have been the greatest match of all time when you consider the angles that led to it, the work of the wrestlers involved, and the fact that it made Steve Austin the number 1 star of the company. The next match features Bret vs The Undertaker from England. This is the same match that is on the recent Undertaker disc as an extra. The reason I believe this match is on both DVD’s is because it was their only match where Clique members did not over shadow the match. The final match of the DVD is the Owen Hart Tribute from Nitro against Chris Benoit. It was an emotional match for both men and is also featured on Benoit’s DVD set. Unfortunately, the action that took place between the commercial breaks is missing from the DVD.

Overall Recommendation
If not for some bad editing, this disc might have lived up to the title. As it is, it is still incredible and is a must for the collection of anyone that claims to be a wrestling fan. The DVD set is nine hours long and does not require the use of the fast forward button for any of it. Overall Recommendation: Buy
