Zack Ryder DVD Review

After years of toiling in the WWE under relative obscurity, Zack Ryder took control of his career by creating a show on Youtube.com. The online fame he garnered from that show led to a huge push for his career during the end of 2011.

Format of the DVD: WWE has recently created a new line of budget-priced DVDs. These DVDs are all one-disc long and run for approximately 90 minutes. The DVD begins with a short video featuring some of the highlights of his career and then consists entirely of matches.

Editing on the DVD: The matches are shown just as they were broadcast. That means that matches and segments are clipped just as they were when the match was originally aired on television.

Match Selection: This DVD focuses exclusively on his time with his current gimmick as Long Island Iced Z. There is no footage of his time as a Major Brother or an Edgehead on this DVD. As far as the matches featured on this set, it includes the two most important matches of his career, his US Championship victory and his bout with Hugh Jackman in his corner.

Overall Recommendation: I only recommend buying this DVD if you are a huge Zack Ryder fan. Otherwise, I think that you can pass on this one. If you want to own the best match from this set as part of your DVD collection, I would recommend tracking down a copy of TLC 2011 which was a great show. That DVD is also only one disc long (although it is almost twice as long) and is almost the same price as this one is.
