Randy Orton DVD Review

Randy Orton is one of the biggest stars in the WWE Universe. In 2004, the third-generation star became the youngest World Champion in WWE History. Randy is a six-time WWE Champion and a three-time World Heavyweight Champion. This value-priced single disc DVD was released a year after WWE Home Video gave him the three-disc DVD set treatment.

Format of the DVD: As is the case with all of the previous sets in the Superstar Collection, this DVD is approximately 90-minutes long. It features four matches with three of them being for a World Championship.

Editing on the DVD: His match with Ted DiBiase is cut where the commercial break took place as it was when the match was originally aired on television.

Match Selection: While the prior sets in this series have focused on the matches where a wrestler wins a championship, this DVD features Randy in the role of the champion that is defending his belt. With all of the great matches in his career, I wouldn't count any of these amongst his best or most memorable. Another problem is that all three pay-per-view matches on this DVD have already been released on other DVD sets.

Overall Recommendation: While this DVD may not be expensive, if you figure out the price on a per-minute basis, these value-priced DVDs are not really a good value. If you are a fan of Orton, I would recommend buying the Blu-ray version Evolution of a Predator before buying this one. For roughly twice the price you will be getting more than four times the action.
