- TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2012 took place on December 16, 2012, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Pre-show “Santa’s Helper” No. 1 Contender’s Diva Battle Royal - This bout took place on the pre-show that took place on YouTube prior to the start of the event. A Diva gets eliminated from this match by being tossed out of the ring and having both feet touch the arena floor. The final three Divas left in the ring were Tamina, Kaitlyn, and Naomi. Kaitlyn and Naomi worked together to eliminate Tamina from the match. After a battle between the final two Divas, Kaitlyn found herself on the ring apron. WWE Divas Champion Eve, who was at the commentary table, gave Kaitlyn a cheap shot. Naomi took advantage of the situation and drop kicked Kaitlyn to the arena floor to earn a title shot later tonight. Winner: Naomi

- The pay-per-view began with the crowd standing in silence as the ring bell tolled 26 times in honor of the lives lost in the horrific tragedy that took place in Newton, Connecticut, on Friday.

- The announcers for the pay-per-view were Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry Lawler.

Tables Match: Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow - The only way for this match to end is for one man to be put through a table. Sin Cara appeared to have the match in control for his team when he went for a move off the top rope onto Damien Sandow. However, Cody Rhodes got up in time to save his partner by shoving Sin Cara off the ropes and through two tables that had been set up outside of the ring earlier in the match. Winners: Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow

United States Championship: Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth - R-Truth was about to hit the Lie Detector but couldn't get the pin. Antonio was then able to hit R-Truth with the uppercut and then the Neutralizer to get the win. Winner: Antonio Cesaro

- Miz interviewed 3MB for Miz TV. During the interview, 3MB turned their attention to the Spanish commentary table and started to get physical with them. That led to Alberto Del Rio coming out to save his fellow countrymen and setting up a tag team match for later tonight.

Intercontinental Championship: Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Wade Barrett - After hitting Kofi with a side slam, Wade went for the Bull Hammer. Kofi was able to reverse the move and hit the Trouble in Paradise to get the win. Winner: Kofi Kingston

- Injured WWE Champion CM Punk spoke to the crowd from a sky box in the arena. As a Staten Islander, Punk became my favorite wrestler when he referred to Brooklyn as the slums of Staten Island. He went on to continue claiming that he is not associated with the Shield.

TLC Match: The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns) vs. Ryback & WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No (Kane & Daniel Bryan) - This bout can only end via pin fall or submission. The Shield dominated most of the match by focusing their attack on one man and then taking advantage of the numbers game. the early part of the match. The three men put Ryback through the Spanish announcers table and moments later gave Daniel Bryan a double superplex off a table. When they tried that move on Kane, he powered out of it and briefly gave his team the advantage until the numbers game caught up to him. Kane was then speared through the ringside barricade by Roman Reigns. They then buried Kane in rubble. Daniel Bryan recovered and applied the No Lock on each man but due to the 3-on-1 advantage The Shield had he couldn't keep it on for long. When it appeared they were going to pin Daniel Bryan, Ryback came back to life. Ryback was able to hit the Shell Shocked on Dean Ambrose but his two partners broke up the pin attempt. A few minutes later, Seth Rollins was tossed off a ladder through a table by Ryback at the top of the ramp. Inside of the ring, Reigns and Ambrose gave Daniel Bryan a power bomb through a table to get the win. Winners: The Shield

Divas Championship: Champion Eve vs. Naomi - Cameron and Brodus Clay were watching this one in the back. Eve won this short bout cleanly with a neck breaker. Winner: Eve 3MB (Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, & Drew McIntyre) vs. The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, & ??? - The Brooklyn Brawler was announced as the tag team partner for the Miz and Del Rio. After years of wearing a ratty old Yankees jersey, he is now sporting a Brooklyn Nets jersey. After Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Jinder Mahal he tagged in the Brooklyn Brawler. Brooklyn Brawler then applied the Boston Crab to get the victory for his team. Winners: The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, & The Brooklyn Brawler

Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Big Show vs. Sheamus - In this match, the use of a steel chair is legal. Sheamus had the advantage when he delivered a shoulder block off the ropes with a chair. When he tried it again, Big Show hit him with the spear. Show then methodically beat up Sheamus with a chair. Show hit the choke slam but couldn't get the win. He then tossed four chairs into the ring. After putting one on top of the chest of Sheamus, Big Show gave him a modified splash off the ropes but still couldn't get the win. Show went to give Sheamus a choke slam through two chairs but Sheamus countered it into the White Noise through the chairs but he couldn't get the win either. Sheamus went for the Brogue Kick and after missing it was hit with the WMD. Somehow, Sheamus kicked out. Show then brought out a giant chair and hit Sheamus with it to get the win. Winner: Big Show

Ladder Match for the Money in the Bank Contract: John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler - High above the ring is the Money in the Bank Briefcase which contains a contract granting the winner a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship whenever they want. Early in the match, Cena got a cut over right eye. When Cena started to climb the ladder, Dolph caught him and applied the sleeper hold. When John passed out, both me wound up falling through a table that was set up next to the ladder. When Ziggler went to climb up the ladder, Cena folded the ladder and tried for the Attitude Adjustment with Ziggler on top of it. Cena applied the STF and caused Ziggler to briefly pass out. Cena then went for the AA again but Dolph reversed it into the Zig Zag. A few moments later, Cena went for the move again but Ziggler countered with a DDT. Cena showed the show-off some of his own athleticism by hitting a hurricarana which drove Ziggler through a table. Cena went for another AA but Ziggler grabbed a chair and started hitting Cena with it. Cena then it the AA which caused Ziggler to fall out of the ring. Vickie Guerrero entered the ring with a chair but before she could hit Cena with it, AJ stormed the ring and hit her with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Cena started to climb the ladder but then AJ tipped it over. Dolph then climbed the ladder and retrieved his briefcase. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

What does this event mean for the future?
The big stories out of this show were the face turn by Alberto Del Rio and the heel turn by AJ. While no explanation will be needed for Alberto's actions, the continuing saga of AJ will need to be explained over the next few weeks.
Other than these turns, nothing of note happened to massively change the course of The Road to WrestleMania. The first pay-per-view stop on that road will be the Royal Rumble and as we have known since July, The Rock will be fighting the WWE Champion at that show. The big question now is when will Ryback get his shot a the title which he was originally scheduled to have tonight.

Overall Thoughts
While the action was very good, from a storyline perspective, there was nothing worth spending your money on. In the grand scheme of things, this show was just another three hours of programming for the company to begin a week in which over the next three nights we will be getting eight more hours of WWE programming. I just can't recommend spending the money for the replay of this one. However, I would check out the DVD when it comes out as the TLC, Ladder, and Chairs Match were all worth checking out.
