Lockdown 2012, the one night of the year where every match takes place inside of a steel cage, took place on April 15, 2012, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. With the exception of the opening contest of the evening, every match can be won by either pin fall, submission, or by escaping the cage. Mike Tenay and Taz were the commentators for this show.

Lethal Lockdown: Team Eric Bischoff (Eric Bischoff, Gunner, Bully Ray, Kazarian, & Christopher Daniels) vs. Team Garett Bischoff (Garett Bischoff, AJ Styles, Rob Van Dam, Austin Aries, & Mr. Anderson) - If Eric Bishoff's team wins then Garett can no longer wrestle in TNA. However, if his team loses then Eric must leave TNA and won't be allowed to use his name anywhere else. The rules of this match stipulate that it begins as a one-on-one contest for three minutes before another man enters the ring. Then, every two minutes another wrestler enters the match with Team Eric always having the odd-man advantage. They earned this advantage by winning a series of matches on Thursday night. Once everyone enters the ring, a roof with weapons dangling from it will be lowered over the ring. Only at this point can the match end and it can only via pin fall or submission. The match started off with Garett Bischoff battling Gunner. After that, the order of entry was: Bully Ray, Austin Aries, Kazarian (who sported a new crew cut hairstyle), AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Mr. Anderson, Eric Bischoff, & Rob Van Dam. Once RVD entered the ring, Eric Bischoff cowered outside of the ring whenever he could. He finally ventured out into the ring of his own volition when only Garett was standing. Eric proceeded to wallop his son with a Singapore Cane. He then proceeded to celebrate prematurely and when he turned around, Garett hit his father in the head with a guitar and then made the winning pin fall. Winners: Team Garett Bischoff

TNA Tag Team Championship: Champions Samoa Joe & Magnus vs. The Motorcity Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) - The first time the champions went for the snap mare/flying elbow combo, they didn't connect. A few minutes later, the tide turned when Alex Shelley couldn't connect with the Sliced Bread #2 on Magnus. That began a string of events that led to the champions hitting the double-team move on Alex Shelley to get the win. Winners: Samoa Joe & Magnus

Television Championship: Champion Devon vs. Robbie E - Robbie E's bouncer, Big Robbie T, was in his corner but outside of the ring for this contest. Devon won the bout relatively easily with a spinebuster. Following the match, Big Robbie T entered the cage and beat up the champion. Winner: Devon

Knockouts Championship: Champion Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky - The champion was accompanied to the ring by her BFF, Madison Rayne. The complexion of the match changed when Velvet gave Gail Kim a power bomb off the top rope. Gail had the presence of mind to grab the bottom rope when Velvet went for the pin. Velvet got into a shouting match with Madison Rayne which led to Gail trying to crawl out of the cage. Velvet stopped her and rolled her up. Gail countered the move by rolling through and with the aid of a handful of tights she got the winning pin to successfully defend the title. Winner: Gail Kim

- Ric Flair entered the ring because he is pissed off with Hulk Hogan for ending Eric Bischoff's career. Hulk Hogan, the current General Manager of TNA Wrestling came out. After trading insults, Hogan punched Flair in the face.

Matt Morgan vs. Crimson - Matt Morgan had the opportunity to walk out of the cage in the beginning of the bout but chose to continue beating up his former partner instead of ending the undefeated streak. Late in the bout, Matt Morgan and Crimson were slugging it out qhilw they were standing on the top ropes. Matt Morgan lost his balance, got crotched on the ropes, and fell in such a way that his leg got entwined in the ropes. That allowed Crimson to easily climb out of the cage. Winner: Crimson

Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle - Kurt's right knee and thigh were taped up due to the injuries he suffered while training for the Olympics. Those injuries forced Kurt to withdraw from the upcoming Olympic qualifiers a few days ago. Jeff was busted up early in the match by the cage. This one delivered a few big moves highlighted by an Angle Slam off the top rope and Jeff hitting a reverse springboard splash off the top rope in the middle of the ring. When Jeff tried to escape the cage, Kurt apploed the Ankle Lock which Jeff reversed into an ankle lock of his own. After hitting a whisper in the wind, Jeff hit Kurt with back-to-back Swanton Bombs but still couldn't get the three-count. Kurt was ablt to hit Jeff with an Angle Slam and when he tried for another one, Jeff reversed it into one of his own. Jeff then climbed up to the top of the cage, hit the Swanton Bomb, and then got the winning pin fall. Winner: Jeff Hardy

Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Champions Eric Young & ODB vs. Rosita & Sarita - EY had to keep diverting his eyes from the ring as the challengers kept gyrating in front of the recently married man. Their continued advance at her husband forced ODB to get some liquid courage from her flask. That infusion of alcohol led to her getting her second wind and the victory. Winners: Eric Young & ODB

TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Bobby Roode vs. James Storm - This event took place in the challenger's home town of Nashville. The country music act Montgomery Gentry was sitting next to the James Storm's wife in the front row. "The Tennessee Cowboy" entered the arena in a pickup truck and brought a six-pack to the ring with him. The action for this one began outside of the ring. The challenger was bleeding heavily before the official start of the match which began when both men finally entered the ring. It didn;t take long before the champion was also sporting a crimson mask. Towards the end of the match, both men were standing on the top rope and trading slamming each other's face into the cage. Storm won that contest and had a chance to escape the cage but decided to come back into the ring to deliver more punishment. Storm went for the Last Call Superkick but the champion moved the referee into the path of the move. The champion then had a chance to escape the cage but instead made the referee give him a beer bottle which he proceeded to smash into the head of James Storm. James Storm was able to recover from that and deliver two Last Call Superkicks. Unfortunately, the last one caused the champion to fall out of the cage and retain the title. Winner: Bobby Roode

What does this event mean for the future?
No too much. No titles changed hands and the champion has continued to hold onto the title with wins that aren't helping make him a star in the eyes of the fans.

Overall Thoughts
This was not a good show. The opening match was the worst Lethal Lockdown Match in the history of that type of match and immediately took the crowd out of the show. After a series of mediocre matches, the crowd came to life for the Jeff Hardy - Kurt Angle bout which was the best match of the show. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the last two Kurt Angle matches at this event.
The crowd, which was shockingly worse than the iMPACT Zone crowd, was there to see their hometown hero finally get his revenge on his former partner. I usually don't complain about the final three-seconds of a show and say that the wrong guy won, but TNA had an opportunity to crown James Storm the champion in a way that would have solidified him as the man for the company. The new writing team has decided to continue the tradition that the old team had of not allowing the paying fan to see the logical conclusion of the storyline they have spent both their time and money on.
