- Survivor Series 2011 took place on November 20, 2011, at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. The announcers for this show were Jerry Lawler, Booker T, and Michael Cole.

US Championship: Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison - The champion was escorted to the ring by his manager, Vickie Guerrero. The crowd broke into several "We Want Ryder" chants throughout the match. During the bout, John Morrison came close to winning the title after hitting a tornado DDT but Vickie Guerrero put the champion's foot on the rope to break the count. Once the referee figured out what happened, he sent her to the back. A few moments later, Morrison went for the Starship Pain but Ziggler got his knees up. Ziggler then hit the Zig Zag to get the win. Following the match, Vickie came out to celebrate. After bragging on the microphone, Zack Ryder came out and hit Dolph with the Rough Ryder. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Lumberjill Match for the Divas Championship: Champion Beth Phoenix vs. Eve - The ring was surrounded by the Divas whose job was to make sure that neither woman left the ring. The bout ended with Beth hitting Eve with the Glam Slam off the top rope to get the win. Winner: Beth Phoenix

- David Otunga entered CM Punk's locker room and threatened him with a lawsuit for hitting Michael Cole on Monday night. He told Punk that John Laurinaitis wanted him to apologize to Michael Cole.

- The Rock was in the back with a microphone. He delivered a classic Rock promo that went into his past at the building as both a wrestler and a child growing up in the business. He even got the crowd to sing New York, New York.

Traditional Survivor Series Match: Team Orton (Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan, & Sin Cara) vs. Team Barrett (Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, & Hunico) - The rules of this match are that it continues until there are no wrestlers left on one of the teams. Dolph Ziggler was eliminated first after being hit by the RKO. Sin Cara and Kofi Kingston went for a double dive but Sin Cara hurt himself doing the move and was counted out. He will be out of action for 6-9 months with a torn patella tendon. Mason Ryan was eliminated next after being hit by the Cross Rhodes. Team Orton went down 4-2 after Kofi Kingston was eliminated after Wade Barrett hit him with the Wasteland. A few minutes later, Sheamus was disqualified for not listening to the referee's count and continuing to hit Jack Swagger with his knee. That put Randy Orton at a 4-on-1 disadvantage. He was helped by Sheamus who hit Jack Swagger with the Brogue Kick before leaving the ring and allowing Randy to get the easy pin on him. Hunico was eliminated next after he was caught with the RKO when trying for a move off the ropes. Orton was able to hit Cody Rhodes with an RKO but Wade Barrett hit Randy with a Wasteland to get the win for his team. Winners: Team Barrett (Survivors - Wade Barrett & Cody Rhodes)

World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Mark Henry vs. Big Show - During the bout, Mark Henry tackled Big Show through the ringside barricade. After the match got back inside of the ring, Big Show climbed the top ropes and hit a Randy Savage-style flying elbow drop. Big Show then went for the Knock Out Punch which Mark Henry avoided. Mark Henry then gave Big Show a low blow. Even though he got himself purposely disqualified, Mark Henry still retained the title. Following the bout, Mark Henry attempted to crush Big Show's leg with the chair again like he did a few months ago. Big Show got out of the way and hit the champion with a KO Punch. Big Show then put Mark Henry's leg in the chair and stomped on it. Medics came out to assist Mark Henry and put him on a stretcher. Winner: Big Show by DQ

WWE Championship: Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk - Alberto Del Rio was escorted to the ring by his personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez. CM Punk brought out a personal announcer of his own for the match, WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel. During the bout, Alberto Del Rio had CM Punk trapped in the cross-arm breaker but CM Punk was able to reach the ropes to break the hold. A few minutes later, CM Punk put the champion in the Anaconda Vice and forced him to tap out. Winner and New Champion: CM Punk

The Rock & John Cena vs. The Miz & R-Truth - While the future WrestleMania opponents looked good in the beginning of the match, Awesome Truth took control of the match and worked over John Cena until he could make the hot tag to the Rock. The Rock put The Miz in a sharpshooter but R-Truth broke the move up. His interference only delayed the inevitable as a few moments later, The Rock hit the Miz with the People's Elbow to get the win. After the bout, the Rock waved John Cena back into the ring as each man went on the ropes to gauge the audience reaction. The fans were overwhelmingly in favor of the Rock, who hit John Cena with the Rock Bottom when he was about to leave the ring. Winners: The Rock & John Cena

What does this event mean for the future?
Now that their night as tag team partners is over, the Rock and John Cena both have their sites set for their upcoming battle at WrestleMania XXVIII in April. While the Rock will be going back to his Hollywood career to continue filming GI Joe 2, one has to wonder what John Cena will be doing between now and the big bout in April.

The final PPV event of the year, TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs takes place in four weeks. While the issues between Big Show and Mark Henry will probably lead to a Chairs Match at that show, the bigger question involves the WWE Championship. CM Punk has made a major enemy of Interim RAW GM John Laurinaitis who will undoubtedly make life a living hell for the new WWE Champion. My guess is that he will be forced to defend the title in a multi-man TLC Match.

Overall Thoughts
Fun show. The reason to buy this one was to see how the Rock looked and he did not disappoint. He showed no signs of ring rust, was quicker than I ever remember seeing him, and still has it on the microphone.

The crowd at MSG was loud all night and had some good reasons to be. This show was definitely worth paying for.
