The "creative team" of the WWE relied heavily on ideas from the past in a desperate attempt to regain the ratings they have lost over the past few years.
1. The Undertaker is Dead
This is #1 because not only has it been done repeatedly in the past, he was killed 3 times this year alone. First the terrorists killed him earlier in the year. Then he was set on fire while trapped in a coffin. Finally, he was blown up in Eddie Guerrero's low rider. Don't worry about him though, a few weeks after each event, the Druids would escort the Taker back to the ring after scaring his murderer for a few weeks on the video monitor.
2. JR is Fired
For what seems like the 80th time, JR was fired from the RAW announce team. This time it was different because he did not bring in fake Diesel or Fake Razor Ramon to gain his revenge. Instead, Dr. Heiny cleared JR's colon.
3. The Montreal Screwjob Returns
The Survivor Series 97 was over 8 years ago. The final RAW of 2005 featured Vince and Shawn still discussing the event. In addition, this year saw the release of a Bret Hart DVD and Shawn Michael's autobiography in case you needed to know anything that hasn't been said about this incident hundreds of times before.
4. Best of 7 Series for the US Title
One of the last good things WCW did was have a best of 7 series for the US Title between Booker T & Chris Benoit. As this year closes, these two men are fighting in a best of 7 series for the US Title.
5. Austin vs McMahon part 37
The Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon feud is responsible for the great successes the WWE achieved in the late 90's. The RAW homecoming featured the returning Steve Austin stun all 4 members of the McMahon family. This renewed rivalry ended with a whimper when...
6. Stone Cold Quits Again
A few years ago, Steve didn't like his role in the company and quit the day of a RAW taping. This year, Steve left a few days prior to facing Coach to decide the fate of his best friend JR at The Taboo Tuesday PPV. Don't worry about Steve, in 16 years Vince's grandson will be due for his first Stone Cold Stunner in Austin vs McMahon part 54.
7. Austin vs McMahon without Austin or McMahon
In another attempt to recreate the Austin vs McMahon ratings magic, John Cena played the part of Austin and Eric Bischoff played the part of Vince McMahon. Thankfully, this poor imitation has come to an end.
8. Diva Search 2
When the boring chants are deafening in the arena for Diva Search 1, the obvious thing to do is have a Diva Search 2. While this search did not have the "witty conversations" or pie eating butts like the first one, this one featured some Diva hopefuls that couldn't perform jumping jacks or forgot to wear underwear to the arena.
9. Feud Over Playboy Cover
It seems that each spring Playboy features a WWE Diva on their cover. In the ring, that means one Diva will be jealous of the fame of the naked Diva. This year, naked was played by Christy Hemme while jealous was played by Trish Stratus.
10. Jeff Jarrett Complaining About TNA Management
The overall story of TNA since their inception is that Jeff is champion and the management of TNA is always trying to screw him over. Jeff Jarrett's main event promo has been the same for almost 3 years with only the names changing. In a weird coincidence, TNA management consists of .... Jeff Jarrett.
