WWE Night of Champions 2013 PPV Predictions

By September 13, 2013

Follow me on:

On Sunday night, WWE presents Night of Champions. The main event of this show features Randy Orton defending the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan. As is always the case, you can let me know what you think will be happening at this show by clicking on the comments links below. I just ask that you help keep this site non-spoiler and do not mention anything that happened during Tuesday night's SmackDown taping until that show airs on the East Coast on Friday.

Gauntlet Match: The Prime Time Players vs. The Usos vs. Tons of Funk vs. The Real Americans vs. 3MB - The winner of this gauntlet match will go on to fight the Shield for the tag team titles later in the evening. The fact that a set of tired challengers will be fighting Triple H's henchmen tells me that the heel teams of The Real Americans and 3MB have no shot to win this match. The Usos had their shot during the pre-show at Money in the Bank and have to be considered out of contention at this point. Since one of the Funkadactyls will be in a match later in the show, I can't see Tons of Funk stealing their thunder. That leaves The Prime Time Players who have been recently been generating lots of mainstream publicity for the company due to Darren Young's recent announcement. Predicted Winners: The Prime Time Players

WWE Tag Team Championship: Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns vs. ??? - No rest for the weary here as I'm predicting this match to start the show off. Regardless of who wins the prior match, The Shield will pick up the win after their challengers put in a valiant effort but are too fatigued from their prior match to have a real shot at winning this match. Predicted Winners: The Shield

US Championship Match: Champion Dean Ambrose vs. ??? - There has been no announcement made about this title being on the line. I'm predicting that Vickie Guerrero puts Dolph Ziggler in a match for this title and that he wins the belt due to Kofi Kingston preventing the other two members of The Shield from interfering. Predicted Winners: Dolph Ziggler

Divas Championship: Champion AJ Lee vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi - AJ Lee's promo a few weeks ago was one of the most entertaining moments in the division since the retirement of Trish Stratus. While I'd like to say that she will carry the momentum she has been building into a longer title reign, I think it's time that focus of the division shifts to the cast of Total Divas. I'm picking Brie Bella to get the win here thanks to the interference of Eva Marie. I also think that AJ's anger at the cast will only grow because she won't be the Diva that gets pinned in this match. I'm guessing that Natalya is the Diva that gets pinned in this one. Predicted Winner: Brie Bella

World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam - The big question on my mind is when we will see Ricardo Rodriguez rejoin Alberto Del Rio. I don't envision him rejoining his former boss so soon. With that being said, I still don't think that RVD walks out of this match with the belt. Alberto's still a star on the rise the company that can benefit from a title reign that features him beating legendary figures like Christian (who he beat last month) and RVD on pay-per-view. As far as Damien Sandow's Money in the Bank title shot goes, I'm not predicting for him to try and cash in the title shot. Predicted Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Handicap Elimination Match: CM Punk vs. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman - My usual rule of thumb is that when a champion is in a non-title match they will lose. I'm keeping with that theory in so far as Curtis Axel being pinned and being taken out of the match. At that point, Punk will be so close to finally getting his hands on Paul Heyman but he won't be able to do so because Paul will have Plan B in place. I think that his way around getting beaten up by Punk is to have a new client appear who will be angry that CM Punk is bullying a man that is not a wrestler. Of course, I'm sarcastically referring to Ryback. Predicted Winners: Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel

WWE Championship: Champion Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan - The odds will be stacked against Daniel Bryan in this match. I'm predicting lots of interference in this one and fans having to be more focused on action outside of the ring than what is going on between the two men. In all of the commotion, I'm picking Daniel Bryan to regain the title as the faction against Triple H finally does something to put a chink in the armor of the new regime. That will lead to some type of a faction battle at WWE's newest event which starts next month, Battleground. Predicted Winner: Daniel Bryan

I really like the idea of Ryback being the new Heyman guy… I am actually hoping that Heyman gets together a “Heenan Family” type stable with Brock, Ryback, Axel… and he needs a tag team… but I am enjoying watching Axel get a push.

I believe Daniel Bryan will win the. Belt from Randy Orton, but I think Sandow will turn in his money in the bank and get the belt from Bryan…

Della Gignac, Sandow’s Money in the Bank case is for the World Heavyweight belt that Alberto Del Rio have, not the WWE title that Orton have,

I have a feeling that like last year when John Laurinitis was against John Cena and Big Show was fred but surprizingly attack John Cena. I have a feeling that same will happen to Daniel Bryan in which Cody Rhodes ended up attacking Bryan and giving the victory to Randy Orton

(7) Idir says:

honestly, i think daniel bryan will give his 100% but it will not be enough.
im sure randy orton will win. and if somehow daniel wins, the controversy will end,and that would be a waste of good entertainment. however if he wins, i think there will be a wwe champion rematch the raw after and randy wins

(8) K.T.Raja says:

WWE wrestling sucks now. We can expect the wrestlers to cheat if they can get away if the referee is not watching. In the name of good business, the management cheats the wrestlers of their win. That is bad business. Now who is actually the best wrestler in WWE, because of bad business nobody knows.
