Alberto Del Rio Wins the World Heavyweight Championship

By January 9, 2013

The final edition of RAW in 2012 saw Big Show allowed to choose his opponent for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Big Show chose Ricardo Rodriguez, the personal ring announcer for Alberto Del Rio, because there was no shot he would lose the title. When it became apparent to Alberto Del Rio that his friend's health was in jeopardy, he got involved in the match.

Eleven nights later on SmackDown, General Manager Booker T announced that Alberto Del Rio would be fighting Big Show for the title in a Last Man Standing Match. After the announcement was made, Big Show tried to beat up Booker T but was stopped by Alberto Del Rio.

The match began a few hours later and it appeared that it would be a another successful title defense for Big Show after he hit the KO punch. Del Rio used his smarts and even though he couldn't stand up on his own accord, he was able to roll out of the ring and the count was stopped when both of his feet touched the floor. After his punches . Big Show then decided to use the stairs on his challenger but accidentally hit himself in the head with them instead. Del Rio used the steps on Big Show again and then proceeded to bury Big Show under the announcer's table to prevent him from standing up.

I read the spoiler on another website earlier in the week. I watched tonight and it was one of the best matches on Smackdown in recent memory, even knowing the outcome
