2012 Tag Team of the Year

By December 24, 2012

Follow me on:

After Ring of Honor swept this award last year, both WWE and TNA put quite a bit more emphasis on their tag team divisions this year. As a result, both of those companies are represented again in this category.

Runners-up: The World Tag Team Champions of the World (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian)
While most tag teams are focused on winning championship gold, these two men were out for something more personal. Their goal in 2012 was to make life a living hell for AJ Styles and they succeeded in that task. Outside the ring, they first made allegations that AJ had an affair with TNA President Dixie Carter. Then they made it appear that a drug addict was pregnant with AJ's child. While AJ eventually proved all of these allegations false, they had an impact on his psyche which has left his career in a major state of confusion as we enter 2013. The two men also had some success in the ring as well as they won the TNA World Tag Team Championship on two separate occasions.

Winners: Team Hell No (Kane & Daniel Bryan)

This summer, Kane and Daniel Bryan were enemies that were involved in a bizarre 4-way relationship involving AJ. After AJ dumped Daniel at the alter to become the General Manager of RAW, she required that he attend Anger Management. During one of Daniel's group sessions with Dr. Shelby, Kane became a patient in the group. The two men eventually found a strange bond with one another and went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. However, the team is exceptionally dysfunctional as both men claim that "I am the tag team champions".
