WWE Survivor Series 2012 PPV Predictions

By November 14, 2012

Follow me on:

On Sunday night, WWE presents Survivor Series. The main event of the show will feature CM Punk defend the WWE Championship against both John Cena and Ryback in Triple Threat Match. As is always the case, you can let me know what you think will be happening by clicking on the "Leave a Comment" link below. I just ask that you help me keep this site non-spoiler and avoid writing about anything that happened at Tuesday's SmackDown taping until that show airs on Friday night. Please note that next to every wrestler's name that will be fighting during the pay-per-view, I have put their record at this event in parenthesis. Click here for further details about their history at this show.

Pre-show: 3MB (Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater, & Drew McIntyre) vs. Santino Marella & Zack Ryder - This match will be taking place during the pre-show for this event which begins streaming at 7:30 PM EST on wwe.com. The first thing I have to predict for this match is which two members of the group will be representing 3MB. I think that Jinder and Drew will fight while Heath tries to interfere in the match. I think that his botched interference will be the difference in this match and that Co-Bro will get the win to get the fans in a good mood before the PPV camers start to roll. Predicted Winners: Santino Marella & Zack Ryder

US Championship: Champion Antonio Cesaro (0-0) vs. R-Truth (1-3) - I like the push that Antonio has gotten since starting with the company. Just as Daniel Bryan and CM Punk went from ROH stars to WWE main eventers, I see the same thing happening for Antonio. I'm eagerly anticipating former ROH stars Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) and Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) eventually getting called up to the main roster. As far as this match goes, there is no reason to stop the momentum that Antonio has built for himself. Predicted Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Divas Championship: Champion Eve (1-1) vs. Kaitlyn (0-0) - The Divas division needs some new blood fast. In recent weeks, the company lost their most popular Diva (Kelly Kelly) and their best in-ring competitor (Beth Phoenix). If Eve wins the match, who is left for her to feud with on the roster. At least if Kaitlyn gets the win there will be some rematches to keep a little bit of a spotlight on the title. Predicted Winner: Kaitlyn

World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Big Show (7-5) vs. Sheamus (1-2) - Big Show won round one of this feud with the WMD. I think that this feud will go on for a few more weeks and the only way for that to happen is for Seamus to regain the title. Despite both men being drained after this match, I don't forsee Dolph Ziggler cashing in his Money in the Bank title shot at this show. As far as the future of each man goes, I see Big Show going back to just being another big man on the show and possibly feuding with Randy Orton while Sheamus will go onto defend the title against Wade Barrett next month. I think that Barrett will get that opportunity based upon the promise that Paul Heyman made to him for joining his team a few weeks ago. Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Traditional Survivor Series Match: Team Foley [Kofi Kingston (2-2), Daniel Bryan (1-0), Kane (7-5-2), Randy Orton (6-3), & The Miz (1-3)] vs. Team Dolph Ziggler [Dolph Ziggler (4-1), Wade Barrett (1-1), Cody Rhodes (2-3), Damien Sandow (0-0), & Alberto Del Rio (0-2)] - There must be a glitch in the Matrix because I have a sense of déjà vu. A few months ago, the Miz was without a team going into the big tag team match at WrestleMania XXVIII. He was added to Team Johnny at the last minute and scored the winning pin fall. I see him doing the same thing here, only this time he will be a hero for doing so. It makes sense to turn the Miz face as he is still young, has charisma, and can go in the ring. He also has some fame outside of the ring and will even be in an ABC Family Channel Christmas movie that will air next year. He is definitely a guy the company can build around. I had a feeling that Miz was going to turn face when I was watching the CM Punk DVD (review will hopefully be posted next week) as Punk claimed that one of his breaking points last year was watching the Miz in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII. It seemed like a strange thing to say at the time but it might have been a way to begin a feud with Punk and the Miz a few months down the line that may even result in a title match between the two at WrestleMania XXIX. Predicted Winners: Team Foley - Miz is the sole survivor

WWE Championship: Champion CM Punk (3-2) vs. John Cena (7-0) vs. Ryback (0-0) - I'm going to work backwards through time for this one starting with Royal Rumble 2013. We know that Rock will be getting a title shot at that event and it only makes sense that Rock will be fighting Punk at that show. Next month is TLC and I'm sure the title will be defended in a TLC Match. I can't see Ryback in that type of a match. He got through a Hell in a Cell Match through smoke and mirrors due to the structure working in his favor as it could hide his weaknesses. That leaves us with either Punk or Cena walking out of this show as champion. However, with the way things have been going over the past few weeks, I think Cena will be fighting Dolph Ziggler at TLC. The big question now is who does that leave for Punk to fight next month. My answer is Mick Foley. This show was originally supposed to feature Team Foley vs. Team Punk in the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. As if that wasn't enough, Punk has been humiliating Jerry Lawler and I think that Foley will be the man to stand up for "The King". The TLC stipulation works well to accentuate Foley's strengths in the ring as well as mask any of his deficiencies due to his age and lack of recent ring work. Predicted Winner: CM Punk

“MRI results…Torn trapezius grade 2. Torn deltoid grade 1. Separated shoulder. No surgery needed. Won’t stop us”

Update 3

I like the push Ryback is getting and have said all along that I see Ryback beating Ziggler at WM29 for the World Title. That said, in this day and age I find it hard to believe that Ryback will ever rreach the level of John Cena, Punk, or Orton if he can’t put a good showing in gimmick matches. It could be argued that one of Cena’s weaknesses is gimmick matches, but his skill set looks like Shawn Michaels’ when compared to Ryback.
