The Orton family has been in the wrestling business for over sixty years. Three members of the family have been involved in matches for what is now known as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Madison Square Garden, the most important arena in WWE history.

Bob Orton Sr.

Bob Orton Sr. began his wrestling career in 1951. He wrestled under a variety of names including Rocky Fitzpatrick. Under that moniker, he lost to WWWF Champion Bruno Sammartino at Madison Square Garden in 1968. Bob was a star during the territorial era of the business and won championship gold throughout the country. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 76 following a series of heart attacks.

Bob Orton Jr.

"Cowboy" Bob Orton is the oldest son of Bob Orton Sr. He followed in his father's footsteps by challenging Bob Backlund for the WWF Championship in 1982 at Madison Square Garden. However, his most famous moment at that arena took place three years later when he was the cornerman for Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in their losing effort against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. During his tenure with the company, he was known for using a cast on his arm as a weapon. In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Barry O

Barry O is the younger brother of "Cowboy" Bob Orton. During his tenure with WWE in the '80s, he was a jobber (the wrestler that would get squashed by the stars to make them look good in televised matches). During the WWE's ring boy sex scandal in the '90s, Barry O became a part of the media frenzy when he discussed on Larry King Live and Donahue alleged advances that one of the accused men, Terry Garvin, had made on him during the early part of his career before both men worked for WWE.

Randy Orton

Randy has become not only the most successful wrestler in the family, but he has also become one of the most successful wrestlers in history. For over a decade, he has been one of the top stars in the WWE. In 2004, at the age of 24, he won the World Heavyweight Championship. By doing so, he became the youngest world champion (includes both WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion) in the company's history. He also became the first direct blood-line third generation superstar to become a world champion (note: The Rock is the first third-generation superstar to become a world champion, however, his father and grandfather were related through marriage). In 2013, Randy Orton became the first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion when, as the WWE Champion, he beat World Heavyweight Champion John Cena in a TLC Match to unify the two titles.
