Monday Night RAW Script Leaked

By March 8, 2009

Follow me on:

A very rare occurrence has taken place. What appears to be a legitimate first-draft of last week's episode of Monday Night RAW was leaked. It is a fascinating look at the detailed planning that goes into producing a wrestling show. However, before looking at the script, I have to warn you that one of the angles on the script didn't happen on last week's show and might be taking place this week. Just in case you were wondering, how a WWE script compares to one done by TNA, here is a leaked script of a 2008 episode of TNA:iMPACT!. That final script was leaked prior to the airing of the show.

While on the topic of leaks, quite a few major ones have been happening lately. Both Steve Austin's and Bill Watts' Hall of Fame announcements were posted on wwe.com prior to the announcements taking place on TV. Speaking of the Hall of Fame, without ruining it for anyone, another inductee in the 2009 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame has already posted the information on their website. Another huge leak was spilled on VH1 on Saturday when Big Show gave away a change to the match that he will be taking place in at WrestleMania XXV during their video countdown show.

Quite interesting… I always thought promos weren’t THAT scripted, but that wrestlers were given a guideline or the overall message they had to convey and from there they had creative license… but I mean, the Jericho promo was literally what he said last monday…

Question: how much creative participation do wrestlers have in promos? Does Jericho get to give input in the promos, or it’s more like the same day they give him the script and ask him to learn it?

It depends on the wrestler and the situation. A guy like Jericho will get more input in his promos than a younger star.
