The History of Ring of Honor
Thursday January 8, 2009
Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be giving many of you your first exposure to Ring of Honor Wrestling. The company is the third largest wrestling promotion in America and will be featured in the upcoming movie The Wrestler. This week, I will be discussing the history of the company which includes one of the seediest and most controversial moments in wrestling history. Next week, I will be posting an interview with ROH owner Cary Silkin. The following week, I will describe my experiences at an upcoming Ring of Honor event. In honor of the growth of the company, I have added their championships to my list of wrestling champions. The schedule of upcoming events for the company can be found on the second page of my wrestling calendar.

Hi Eric, very good and interesting piece about ROH. I was glad you brought more attention to them, and I’m looking forward to their ‘PPV’ this coming Friday. I hope to see a review on that, versus a WWE video game.
The WWE machine already has enough paid people on staff to do publicity for their TV Shows—I would love to see ABOUT PRO WRESTLING be just that! Not just ABOUT WWE, which is really more sports entertainment.
Please keep features like this up and I’m hoping to see a review of the upcoming TNA PPV this Sunday. Doing things like this expose people to the variety of pro wrestling their is. I feel pro wrestling is like real rock’n'roll—-best when there is a ‘rebellious side’ about it, not when it becomes corporate rock—over rehearsed, plastic, pompous and overinflated and stale—IMHO!
Thanks for listening!
