Divas Champion Injured

Monday December 29, 2008
This has been a bad week for injuries in the WWE. Hot on the heels of the announcement that Batista will be out of action, a champion will be joining Batista on the wrestling disabled list.

What started off as a great weekend for Maryse quickly turned bad. On Friday night's edition of SmackDown, Maryse won the Divas Championship from Michelle McCool. On Sunday night, during a house show in Raleigh, NC, Maryse suffered a dislocated kneecap.

At this time, it is unknown how long she will be out of action for. It is also not known what will be happening with the title. Hopefully, she will get well soon and not require any surgery.

Is the Diva’s championship really a title? Isn’t this just a way for WWE to have two women’s titles like they have duplicate world champions? ((Actually triplicate since the ECW is just a watered down version of a 3rd world title belt). Who is Maryse, anyway? This doesn’t seem like major headline news, in my Humble opinion.

Any way that ABOUT WWE can cover more of TNA and Ring of Honor, which both have much better wrestling? If Maryse getting injured at a house show is more important than good things happneing at RING of HONOR or TNA, then it must be a SLOOOOWWW wrestling month :)

Tolcat,

Do you think that if you wrote to our football guide and insulted him by calling him ABOUT NFL that he would start devoting more coverage to the Arena Football League? And I also see that you haven’t given me your top 2 picks, including an LAX match, that deserved the match of the year and runner-up spot for match of the year :-)

In all seriousness, I think the answer to your TNA question can be found in a post I wrote a few months back.

As far as ROH goes, be on the lookout over the next few weeks for some stuff about the company. If those articles get some decent click-thru’s then they will get more coverage.
