2008 Tag Team of the Year

Thursday December 25, 2008
My look back at 2008 continues with announcement of the 2008 Tag Team of the Year. What makes this award different than any other one this year is that Total Nonstop Action has finally made an appearance this awards season.

Runner-Up: Beer Money Inc.
When Robert Roode and James Storm joined forces, fans could be forgiven for thinking that it was a team created just to give two mid-card singles wrestlers something to do between feuds. However, they took advantage of their teaming to create something special. The differences between these men made for a great team when they combined their quirks. The alcoholic and the greedy man concerned only about money named their tag team Beer Money Inc.

Joined by Ms. Jackie the team's first major feud was with tag team champions the LAX. Beer Money won the tag team titles in August at No Surrender and have dominated the tag team division ever since.

Winner: The Miz & John Morrison
Even though both men are technically ECW stars, these two men refuse to be reigned in by any boundaries. They began the year as the WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown and ended the year as the World Tag Team Champions on RAW. Even though they are the champions on RAW, their biggest feud at the moment is against the SmackDown team of Jesse and Festus. Not only do they seemingly appear to be a part of every televised WWE program, they are also the stars of their own show on wwe.com called The Dirt Sheet.
