Turkey of the Year 2008

Thursday November 27, 2008
My look back at 2008 starts with this award. Between now and the end of the year, I will be awarding several awards for both the best and worst that the year had to offer.

On Thursday, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving by eating turkey. The word turkey is also used as an insult for people that have performed bird-brained acts. Which two wrestlers used the poorest judgment this year?

Runner-Up: Mike Knox (Allegedly)
Earlier this year, a Georgia family found a shoebox containing steroids in their house that was left over from a previous tenant. Next to that box was a box which contained paperwork and pay stubs for the wrestler we know as Mike Knox. He claims that the steroids weren't his. The story seems to have ended with no charges being filed against anyone. The moral of this story is that if you have an illegal stash of drugs, you probably shouldn't leave it behind when you move.

The Winner: Robbie McAllister
When the WWE decided to hold WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, TNA responded to the WWE holding this event in their hometown by broadcasting a live edition of TNA:iMPACT!. During that broadcast, Highlander Robbie sat in the audience of the crowd and was shown on TV. After appearing on their rivals TV show, the WWE told Robbie to leave Orlando. What makes this move worse is that Robbie's tag team partner Rory was impacted by Robbie appearing on iMPACT!. Both members of the Highlanders were released from their contracts in August.
