TNA Turning Point 2008 Recap and Results

This was the first TNA PPV to feature the newest wrestling faction, The Main Event Mafia. Consisting of Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T, and Scott Steiner, these five men are on a mission to teach the younger stars of TNA a lesson in respect. Unlike any other faction in wrestling history, everyone in this group is a former world champion in a major wrestling organization.

Tonight's show featured a double main event that saw the first major battles in this new wrestling war. Did Sting teach AJ Styles the meaning of respect or did AJ walk out of this event as the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion? Sting won that title last month when Kevin Nash turned against his former protégé, Samoa Joe and hit him with Sting's baseball bat. Was the teacher or the student the winner of that grudge match tonight?

Recap

The Main Event Mafia dominated this event. They went 4-0 and even gained a new member when Christian Cage lost his match to Booker T and was forced to join the group.

A strange event happened during the show. During the Rhino vs. Bashir match, Scott Hall and the Insane Clown Posse showed up in the audience. They stayed in the crowd for that match and the tag team title match and were gone before the first match featuring the Main Event Mafia. Even though the men appeared on camera, the announcers did not mention the men by name. After they left the audience, they did not appear on the show again. It would have been logical to guess that Hall would have interfered in the Kevin Nash match because the reason Nash turned on Joe was because Joe insulted Hall last year when Hall no-showed the PPV match that was supposed to feature Nash, Hall, and Joe team together.

• Legends Championship: Champion Booker T beat Christian Cage and as a result Christian must join the Main Event Mafia
  
• Falls Count Anywhere: Kurt Angle beat Abyss
  
• Kevin Nash beat Samoa Joe
  
• TNA World Championship: Champion Sting beat AJ Styles
