Whatcha Gonna Do When Linda's Lawyers Try to Run Wild Over You?
It's been a few weeks since I last looked at the Hogan family soap opera. Since my last update, resolution over the $4.2 million condo has been resolved, Linda's monthly allowance has been set, Brooke has stopped speaking to her mother, and Hulk gave his most in-depth interview about all the nonsense to Howard Stern.
Last Week's Court Appearance
The most violent wrestling-related battle last week didn't take place in the Hell in a Cell, it took place inside of a Florida courthouse. After months of being pounded on, Hulk's lawyers finally felt the revitalizing power of Hulkamania and gave Linda's lawyers a leg drop. A judge ruled that Hulk did not have to go through with the purchase of a $4.2 million condo in Las Vegas. Linda had previously tried to have Hulk thrown in the slammer for not buying the condo. Hulk also got the right to move into one of his beach houses. While Hulk walked out the victor in this battle, he was not left without a few battle scars. Linda will receive $40,000 a month living expenses for the next year. He will also be forced to pay for her utilities and 2007 and 2008 taxes. The judge also divided up the use of their cars. During the hearings, Linda's lawyers accused Hulk of trying to hide assets and began rattling off assets. They were forced to stop but they did get a few items made public. The St. Petersburgh Times has the full blow-by-blow of the battle for the assets.
Hulk Hogan Appears on Howard Stern
A few weeks prior to the court hearing, Hulk appeared on Howard Stern and shared many stories about the family drama with the shock jock. Some of the topics that Howard fixated on were Playboy's offer to Brooke Hogan and how Hulk was coping with the drama. There were some interesting stories told in this interview and it was far more interesting than the one Hulk did with Larry King. A recap of the interview can be found on Marksfriggin.com, but I have to warn you that some of the content on this link may be offensive to some people.
Brooke Hogan Issues Apology for False Statement
In an interview with People Magazine, Brooke Hogan apologized for making false statements about her father. She had signed an affidavit, which she now regrets signing, that claimed her father physically abused her mother. Brooke's reps claimed she signed that document when she was upset with her dad. Ironically enough, in May, Brooke posted a blog to her MySpace account, which was later removed, about lies and people having to eat their words. So tell us Brooke, how does the signed affidavit taste.
The most ironic part of this story is that while Hulk has lied in public (steroids use on Arsenio Hall), Brooke signed a false affidavit, and Linda claimed in 911 call that there was a restraining order on Hulk, the only non-liar in the family, Nick, is the one that is in jail.
