Hulk Hogan on Larry King and Other Hogan Family News

Thursday June 12, 2008
When it rains it pours. However, for the Hogan family it is more accurate to say that everything they have touched lately has literally gone up in flames. This week Hulk's grill was recalled due to a fire hazard, Hulk appeared on Larry King Live to talk about his family issues, Linda wants Hulk to join Nick in jail, Nick was moved from solitary, and an alleged pedophile tried to reach out to Nick.

Hulk Hogan on Larry King
Hulk Hogan appeared on Larry King earlier this week. For those that didn't see it, CNN has posted a transcript of his appearance and have 18 minutes of video from the show on their site.

The first thing I noted when watching the show was that Hulk looked physically bad. The strain from all of the issues going on in his life was clearly showing. As far as his comments, I agreed with some of the things he said but found other parts of it hard to believe.

I agree with Hulk in that his son was treated unfairly in jail. Solitary is a punishment meant to mentally break-down the hardest criminals not for a 17-year old that was a moron behind the wheel of a car. I also believe that the tapes shouldn't have been released and that the portions that were released were done so to purposely make the family look bad.

I found it hard to believe Hulk's rationale for the way the accident happened. In all fairness to the Hulkster, he is a father trying to protect his son. Normally, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to telling the truth. However, since he has a track record of lying on national TV (Arsenio Hall Show about his steroid use) it is hard for me to accept everything he says as truth.

The most interesting thing to come out of this show was his stories about the Hogan's and their relationship to the Graziano family. It was nice to hear that Hulk is doing the right thing financially for the family even though at this time he is under no legal obligation to do so.

Linda Wants Hulk in Jail
TMZ.com is reporting that Linda wants Hulk to join Nick in jail for not paying $4.2 million for her Las Vegas condo. The condo was in escrow when the couple filed for divorce and Hulk allegedly didn't follow the judge's order to close the deal. My favorite line in all the legal papers is "The Husband apparently vanished from the face of the Earth on May 30, 2008." She must not have been trying very hard to find him. I'm sure that TMZ had many people following him that day. I know I speak for many others when I saw that I wish that this family would disappear for some time.

Nick Moved From Solitary
Since my last weekly Hogan update, Nick has been moved out of solitary confinement. He is now in a communal cell with three other inmates where they share a TV set. I'm willing to bet that as soon as these inmates get out of jail that they will try to sell their stories to the highest bidder.

Alleged Pedophile Tries to Contact Nick
TMZ.com has on their site a letter from Stephanie Ragussa that she tried to send to Nick Hogan. Ragussa is currently in jail awaiting trial for allegedly having sex with one of her middle-school students. The letter was not sexual in nature. It appears that she felt similarity in the high profile nature of their cases and the letter appears to be her trying to help Nick cope with his situation.

Hulk's Grill Recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a voluntary recall for Hulk Hogan’s Ultimate Grill. The warning states: "Cooking oils or sprays applied to the grill’s cooking plates before preheating can cause the oil to ignite and/or flare up. Cooking sprays can ignite and/or flare up if used on the grill at any time." In a total non-shocker, the recalled product was manufactured in China. No word yet on whether there is any lead paint used on the product.
