Nick Hogan Arrested

Wednesday November 7, 2007
Nick Hogan, son of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, has been arrested on charges of felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury stemming from his involvement in a car accident this summer. According to a press release by the Clearwater, Florida Police Department about the crash, police have determined that Nick had alcohol in his system and was involved in a race with another car at the time of the accident.

That accident, which took place on August 26, 2007, was a single vehicle crash. Nick's friend, John Graziano III, a 22-year-old active-duty Marine who had just completed a tour of duty in Iraq, will probably have to spend the remainder of his life in a nursing home due to the severity of brain damage he sustained in the crash.

After the accident took place, reports of his poor driving record came to light came to light. In a statement Nick's representative, Adam Handelsman, released to TMZ.com, the blame for John's condition appears to be given to John for not wearing his seatbelt.

"Nick and the entire Hogan Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007.

Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena a court of law. The family's primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick's longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can.

The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his.

Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt. There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident.

We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John's recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers".

Jonh new to wear his seatbelt. Hs’s 22 yrs old. If Nick would have got pulled over before the accident jonh would have gotten a tickit for no seatbelt. Not nick.. As far as being charged as an adult. He was with a 22 yr old adult. who should of been able to tell that Nick had a drink.{Was jonh with Nick Having afew If so thats Jonh Feeding to and under age} But more than most likely if Jonh was wearing his belt Jonh would be OK.

Nick has a history for driving reckless, he just got more than a ticket this time. Minors shouldn’t drink, and should be raised to make the right decisions, if your old enough to given keys to any vehicle at your parents leisure obviously they believe you are old enough to maintain the responsibility that comes with it. Blaming his friend for his own injuries is just ignorant, everyone knows if you are the driver you are the one who makes sure everyone in your car is wearing a seatbelt, noone hangs themselves outside the window, if you as the driver allow your passengers to ride unsafe, it is the drivers responsibility-that’s why it’s a priviledge-not a right.

This guy should be in prison for years to come. Just imagine if his dad was an average “joe” without all the money and power. Even with all his “pull” his kid gets short term. Kids do dumb stupid things but his friend will never “live” like a normal person again. Good job Nick, you are just a simple spoiled, arrogant rich kid that thinks what u do has no consequences. Hope the criminal charges all stick. 10-15 years is good considering his friend is getting a life sentence!

after reading some of the comments from people who have never met the hogans,i cant believe they feel sry for him.some actually believe he is the same guy they see on the tube..its a T.V. show people.the crippled young war veteran is real life….listened to the tape from the prison and could not believe what they said..unbelievable..but then so was his wrestling,i guess once a fake always a fake,Hogans boy should be sry but from those tapes he sounds more worried about getting into the escalade..unreal..simply unreal..but thats hollywood…probably make a reality show of his time in prison and make millions ….and thats JUSTICE..whatta laugh..for the hogans at least,my thoughts and prayers go out to the young war vet

i loved the show hogan knows best but come on fame goes to the head. as much as i like the hogans i think the time they gave nick to serve was not enough!! unless anyone has been threw a bad accident like that they would know how painfull it is to losee a loved one not that his friend is gone but a veggie state pretty much gone.

(20) Janelle says:

As an adult and a parent of three I am very confused about some of the comments that have been posted. Yes nick is not an adult so he should not be treated as an adult, fame or no fame. As far as the vet he is an adult that had been drinking which is legal for him but it is not legal for him to contribute to a minor. When you are over 18 years old you choose not to wear a seat belt or wear one. Nick cannot make his friend fasten his seat belt and if that is what caused his vegitation state then that is not Nicks fault. Im not defending either one of them because both of them are to blame and both need to be punished, punished the right way and fame should not be involved in it at all. Innocent until proven guilty
Best wishes to both the families

(23) TC says:

First off let me say my prays go out for the young guy who was hurt in this, his life will never be the same. As for nick hogan, I have watched the so called show Hogan knows best. I would say that that might not be the case here. I do believe the Judge did the right thing by sending Nick to jail after all he was breaking the law. I also believe that the Hogan family should be responsible for all the financial needs of the young man that was hurt and not the tax payers. It is time that all these kids that are born into celeb status relize what a privilage they have and stop abusing it. The parents of these kids should be held to a higher standard. To many of the kids today look up to these kids why I do not know, they would never be able to survive in the real world without all the glamor and money
