Brody Book Review

Monday September 3, 2007
Prior to this summer, without a doubt, the most disgusting story in the history of the wrestling business was the death of Bruiser Brody. For those unfamiliar with the story, he was summoned to the shower by one of the promoters of the Puerto Rico based World Wrestling Council where he was stabbed to death. As if that wasn't bad enough, the family of Bruiser Brody never got any justice because it was bought. Jose Huertas Gonzales (Invader I) was found not guilty in a trial where the witnesses for the prosecution were not notified of the trial until after the verdict was given.

While Brody is most known for his violent end, it is not all he is known for. Those that saw him in action still marvel at what he was able to do. Those that follow the business of the sport were in awe of what he was able to do outside of the ring. His fights against his opponents inside the ring paled in comparison to his battles outside the ring against promoters trying to rob him of either his money or dignity. As we have seen this week, it is a lesson that still needs to be learned by current wrestlers.
