Bad News Brown 1943 - 2007

Wednesday March 7, 2007
I am terribly saddened to report that Allen Coage, known to wrestling fans as Bad News Brown and Bad News Allen, passed away on Tuesday morning. Three weeks ago, he had a hip replacement surgery. On Monday night, he was rushed to the hospital complaining of chest pains. He passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 63.

Prior to becoming a pro wrestler, Allen won a bronze medal in Judo for the United States at the 1976 Olympics. He was trained to wrestle by Antonio Inoki and made his debut in 1977. During his career, he was a star in Japan, Stampede Wrestling, Florida Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation.
