8/7 Monday Night RAW Recap

This weeks main event was Triple H vs. Umaga. Just like last week, a member of D-Generation X was arrested. This week, Shawn was arrested for hitting a police officer when he was being separated from Shane McMahon. With the help of The McMahon's and Armando Alejandro Estrada, Umaga kept his undefeated streak alive when he pinned Triple H after hitting the spike. After the match, Vince McMahon gave Triple H the pedigree.

WWE Champion Edge was very upset that the SummerSlam poster did not feature him. He was also angry that Trish Stratus was on the cover of the upcoming WWE magazine. After Edge and Lita double teamed Trish after stopping her championship match, Carlito came to her rescue. The four met in a tag team match later in the night. Lita pinned Trish after Edge gave her the spear. Edge will be defending the WWE title against John Cena at SummerSlam. Cena beat the 500+ pound Viscera tonight.

Hulk Hogan has a torn meniscus and was unable to be at RAW tonight. The SummerSlam match between Hogan and Randy Orton is in jeopardy of not happening. As a buildup to the potential match, “The Legend Killer” battled Jerry Lawler in his hometown of Memphis. After kicking Lawler in the groin, Orton gave him the RKO to get the win.

Mick Foley finally accepted the challenge of Ric Flair. Flair was able to infuriate Foley by saying that the greatest hardcore match Foley ever saw involved Flair and he had the proof because Foley wrote in his book, Foley is Good, that his favorite match was the classic I Quit match between Flair and Terry Funk in 1989. Foley and Flair will have an I Quit match at SummerSlam.

In other action, Kane won a number one contender’s match for the I-C title against Shelton Benjamin. Erica was eliminated from the Diva Search contest. The remaining four contestants battled in a diss the Diva contest and will be in a talent contest this Friday on SmackDown!.
