8/3 TNA:iMPACT! Recap

The final segment of tonight's show featured Jim Cornette laying down the law to several TNA stars. He announced a few more matches for Hard Justice and two matches for next week. The main event for next week will feature Christian Cage battle Scott Steiner. These two men will be in the corner of Sting and Jeff Jarrett, respectively, at the PPV. In an ironic moment, Cornette began his speech by stating that he is sick of promotions where the boss is on TV every five minutes interrupting the wrestling. Jeff Jarrett, one of the owners of TNA, was on TV several times during this one hour show as he was interviewed, beat up Jay Lethal in the locker room before his match, beat up The Naturals after their match, and beat up Christian Cage to end the show. I always enjoy it when TNA takes the opportunity to insult something that the WWE does and then does the same exact thing.

As far as in ring action goes, tonight's show was severely lacking in that. The LAX won a squash match. The newly "Franchised" Naturals beat their arch nemesis America's Most Wanted in less than three minutes. This is a big win for the Naturals because their plummet down the card started when they lost the tag team titles to America's Most Wanted. America's Most Wanted continues their losing ways. For the past few months, mistimings between Chris Harris and James Storm have cost the team several high profile matches including one that took the tag team titles off of their waists. The final match on the show was to determine who would battle Senshi for the X Division title at Hard Justice. Petey Williams won the five person match.
