Great American Bash Predictions

This Sunday night, the WWE presents The Great American Bash. A week ago, this card had the potential to be a really good event. However, two injuries to an already depleted SmackDown! roster have left this card in shambles. My predictions for the event are listed below and in the order that I believe the matches will take place. In addition to telling you who I think will win, I’m going to explain why.

Tag Team Titles: Champs Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs Kid Kash & Jamie Knoble -All 4 of these men are former cruiserweight champions. Given that Kash & Noble have beaten their opponents in recent weeks in singles matches, a loss by the tag team champs would be crushing for the team. Since there is a total lack of tag teams on the good guy side of the fence, London & Kendrick will get the win. Predicted Winners: London & Kendrick

Cruiserweight Title: Champ Gregory Helms vs ??? - Helms has recently become the longest reigning cruiserweight champion. However, over the past few months he has not had any memorable title defenses and has lost several champion vs champion matches. I expect this reign to end tonight. As far as who his opponent will be, I’m going with Super Crazy. Predicted Winner: Super Crazy

U.S. Title: Champ Finlay vs William Regal vs Lashley - As of Friday night, this was a triple threat match that involved Lashley. Due to a medical issue the match had to be changed. What makes this a strange match is that Regal and Finlay are allies of King Booker. These men have had some good matches against each other while in WCW so it should be a good match. As far as picking a winner, Finlay has been on a good roll while Regal has not had a notable win in quite sometime. I expect the leprechaun to cause Regal to lose this match. Predicted Winner: Finlay

Punjabi Prison Match: The Undertaker vs The Great Kahli - The last two men to feel the wrath of The Undertaker at The Great American Bash (Paul Bearer & Hassan) have never been seen in the WWE again. The GAB has featured some innovative matches. Unfortunately, with the exception of Wargames the rest of these matches (capture the flag scaffold match, tower of doom, human torch, & concrete crypt) have been pretty bad. I’m guessing that The Great Kahli wins this match to set up the inevitable match that happens in every Undertaker feud, the casket match. Predicted Winner: The Great Kahli

Bra & Panties Match: Ashley vs Jillian vs Michelle McCool vs Kristal - This is Ashley’s first match back since breaking her leg. I’m guessing that a victory by Michelle will be a good way to continue her egotistical character and combined with her bull riding victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event will give her character an air of legitimacy. Predicted Winners: Michelle McCool

Batista vs Ken Kennedy - It doesn’t matter who answered the open challenge, they were going to lose this match. The last time we saw Mr. Kennedy in action he lost to Matt Hardy. Predicted Winner: Not Mr. Kennedy…………………………………………….Kennedy

World Title: Rey Mysterio vs Booker T - Until Mark Henry was injured, this wasn’t even the main event. The winner of this match is just going to keep the belt warm for Batista. It just makes more sense for Batista to beat The King for the title instead of his friend Rey. Predicted Winner: King Booker
