John Tenta 1963 -2006

Wednesday June 7, 2006
I am terribly saddened to report that John Tenta has passed away. Wrestling fans will best remember him for his main event and tag team championship run as Earthquake. He also wrestled as Avalanche, Shark, John Tenta, and Golga. In 2004, he announced to fans on the Wrestlecrap Message Boards that he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Over the past few years, he made many posts to the site informing fans of his battle with the disease and talking about his career. He was 42 years old and is survived by a wife and three children.

I haven’t been a fan for a while, but man I can say that Earthquake was one of my favorite childhood heals, and I believe that Earthquake was one of the best natural heals, who was underused for his talents in the WWF/WWE. I think that he could have been used even today. This was a lost.
