5/8 Monday Night RAW Recap

Monday May 8, 2006
Tonight’s show featured the shocking heel turn of one of the most beloved wrestlers in WWE history. In other storyline developments, the inevitable D-X reunion moved one step closer to happening, a new Diva made her debut, JR took over the announcing duties from Joey Styles as the WWE-ECW feud begins, and Kane is getting crazier as May 19 approaches.

(1) Brendan McGovern says:

Have you seen a more half-baked heel turn than Foley’s? I guess they’re setting up ECW vs. WWE but it was very short-sighted.

I will agree with you that the execution of the heel turn was not done well. However, if it leads to the return of the anti-hardcore Cactus Jack from ECW then the execution of the turn won’t matter. That character was the epitomy of everything that made ECW great.

As far as a more half-baked heel turn, the whole Kane turns bad when he hears May 19 could be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I hate when they use the wrestling shows to promote a movie. That has led to such horrible events as Zeus being in a main event, Robocop saving Sting, Chucky threatening Rick Steiner and David Arquette winning the WCW title.
