Kings on Velocity, Hardcore Holly Update, Huge ECW News, & Dancing with the Stars

WWE News
- Due to the WWE super show taping last week, Velocity features four final matches from the archives of The King of the Ring tournament. If you read my King of the Ring article and was wondering how bad Art Donovan’s commentary was, it is featured in the Owen Hart vs Razor Ramon match. At this point of the show, both Randy Savage and Gorilla Monsoon were trying to ignore him.
- If you are wondering where Hardcore Holly has been lately, he suffered a staph infection last August which turned into MSRA. This is a very serious condition that HBO’s Real Sports recently did a segment on. PWInsider.com provided a link to the message board connected to Holly’s site which has a thorough explanation of the situation. If you want to send Bob a letter of encouragement you can send it to one of the addresses listed on his web site.
- PWInsider.com is reporting that the WWE plans to bring back ECW as a full time promotion in the fall and have reached out to former ECW talent to sign three year deals. In other WWE/ECW news, the WWE has launched ECW.com for the second One Night Stand PPV. It appears that Terry Funk will be on the show this year. Last year he chose to compete at the rival Hardcore Homecoming show. There will be no Hardcore Homecoming show this year but there will be another rival promoting the old ECW Arena that weekend.
TNA News
- The TNA/UWF shows head to the northeast for the first time. On the weekend of One Night Stand 2, the TNA superstars will be wrestling at the old ECW Arena. Tickets go on sale this weekend for that show.

- Stacy Keibler’s Dancing with the Stars salary became public knowledge when Howard Stern read parts of the contract the producers sent his girlfriend Beth O on his radio show. She was guaranteed over $100,000 for the first two weeks and then about $20,000 a week after that. The contract maxes out at $245,000. Beth O is deciding whether or not to do the gig because being tied to one spot for that long might cost her money. By way of comparison, Gary from Howard’s show was offered $100,000 to appear on Celebrity Fit Club. I’d give you the link for the sites where Stern talks about this but can’t due to the adult content on the pages that detail 4/19 show.
