3/20 Monday Night RAW Recap
Monday March 20, 2006
Tonight’s RAW is used to further several WrestleMania angles and settle a few issues from Saturday Night’s Main Event. Tonight’s main event is John Cena & Shawn Michaels against Shane McMahon & Triple H.
- The show starts off with a giant celebration for Shane McMahon due to his victory over Shawn Michaels on Saturday night. Vince then changes the stipulation of his WrestleMania match with Shawn to a no holds barred match. He then makes a match for tonight between Shawn and Triple H. When Vince goes back to celebrating, John Cena comes out. He says that if anyone is going to fight Triple H tonight it will be him. After Cena and the McMahon’s trade insults, Vince announces tonight’s main event. It will be John Cena and Shawn Michaels vs Triple H & Shane McMahon.
- Triple H is in the back with Vince and Shane. Vince announces that he will be out there for his family in tonight’s match.
Carlito vs Kane - These two men will battle in a tag team match at WrestleMania. The Big Show and Chris Master have been banned from ringside for this match. Kane catches Carlito in mid air while attempting a springboard and delivers the choke slam to get the victory. Winner: Kane
- Chris Masters and Carlito are in the back yelling at each other. Chris tells Carlito to watch his match against The Big Show later tonight to see how it is done.
Hall of Fame Announcements: The Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Mulligan) will be inducted into the hall of fame by Bobby Heenan.
I-C Title Match: Champ Shelton Benjamin vs Rob Van Dam vs Ric Flair - All 3 of these men will be representing RAW in the 6 man Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania. When Ric Flair puts Rob Van Dam in the figure four leg lock, Shelton jumps on top of Flair to get the three count. Winner: Shelton Benjamin
- Mick Foley comes to the ring and says that Edge has reawakened the spirit of Cactus Jack. Lita comes to the ring without Edge. Lita says that Mick should make the match a regular wrestling match to prove to the critics that he is more than a glorified stuntman. Mick predicts the inevitable Edge sneak attack and keeps him out of the ring while he applies the mandible claw to Lita.
Victoria vs Torrie Wilson - Prior to the start of the match, Candice Michelle is carried to the ring on a giant bed. Candice throws pillows at Torrie. This distraction allows Victoria to hit the widow’s peak to get the win. Winner: Victoria
Chris Masters vs The Big Show - This is the second match of the night between the competitors of the tag team title match at WrestleMania. A few minutes into the match, Masters hits TBS with a chair to the head. He continues his assault and then applies the master lock. While in the master lock, TBS has his head rammed into the ring post by Masters. Winner: The Big Show by DQ
- Mickie James comes to the ring and there is a giant gift box in the middle of the ring. She calls Trish Stratus to the ring. Inside the box is Ashley being held hostage. Trish and Mickie start brawling and it ends up with Trish being knocked out. While Trish is unconscious, Mickie gives Trish a big kiss on the lips.
John Cena & Shawn Michaels vs Shane McMahon & Triple H - Before the start of the match, Shawn is restrained by security when he attempts to go after Shane. Shane then tries to senak attack Cena from behind and jumps off the top rope. Cena catches Shane with a fist. Just when Cena is about to touch Triple H for the first time, Vince calls for the bell and demands that Cena be disqualified for throwing a punch. He then warns Cena to leave the ringside area immediately or he wil be stripped of the title. Vince then makes a new match for the main event. Winners: Triple H & Shane McMahon beat Shawn Michaels & John Cena by DQ
Handicap Match: Shawn Michaels vs Triple H & Shane McMahon - The two bad guys beat on Shawn. Triple H has Shawn set up for the pedigree while Shane is on the top rope. Before they can do their double team move, John Cena comes from the back and throws Shane off the ropes while Shawn low blows Triple H. The McMahon’s and Triple H retreat to the back while Shawn & John beat up Vince’s security team. Vince then ends the show by announcing that next week the main event will be John Cena vs Vince McMahon. Winners: No Contest
