No Way Out 2006

Due to the results of this show, the SmackDown! main event at WrestleMania should be Kurt Angle facing off against Randy Orton for the World Championship. However, due to the controversial finishes of some of the matches tonight, that main event may become a triple threat or even a fatal four way. In addition, two champions were pinned tonight (but only one lost their title).
Cruiserweight Title: Champion Gregory Helms vs Kid Kash vs Nunzio vs Paul London vs Brian Kendrick vs Super Crazy vs Psicosis vs Scotty 2 Hotty vs Funaki - All 9 men can fight in the ring at the same time. The first to score a pin fall or submission victory will leave the ring as the champion. Gregory Helms stayed outside the ring for most of the match. The end of this match features several near falls as most of the men hit their finishing maneuvers on someone only to have their pinfall attempt broken up by a man that will then deliver their finishing maneuver to them. Kid Kash hits the brain buster on Psicosis only to have Super Crazy break up the attempt. Helms sneaks back into the ring and rolls up Psicosis for the win. Winner: Gregory Helms
JBL w/Jillian Hall vs Lashley - Prior to the start of the match, Finlay kidnapped Kristal and brought her to the ring. Lashley came to the ring to save Kristal and the two men started to fight. By the time JBL makes it to the ring, Lashley has disposed of Finlay and the referees have kicked him out of the ring side area. The finish saw Finlay come back to the ringside area through the crowd and throw the ring announcer Tony Chimel into the ring. When the referee tried to get Chimel out of the ring, Finlay hit Lashley with the shillelagh. JBL then hit the clothesline from hell to get the win. Winner: JBL
- Batista enters the ring. He tells the fans he will be back soon and will regain his world championship regardless of who the champion is.
Open Challenge Match: Champs MNM vs Matt Hardy & ??? - Matt Hardy’s special partner is Tatanka. The tag team titles are not on the line. This match ends when after doing his war dance Tatanka gave Mercury the Samoan Drop to get the win for his team. At the same time, Matt Hardy gave Nitro the twist of fate. Winners: Matt Hardy & Tatanka
U.S. Title: Champ Booker T w/Sharmell vs Chris Benoit - Prior to the match, Booker T makes it appear that he is going to forfeit the title. However, this was all a distraction that allowed him to cheap shot Benoit right before the match started. After 15 minutes of action, Benoit tried to apply the sharpshooter to Booker T. Booker T kicked out of the attempt but Benoit crashed into the ropes where Sharmell was standing. Benoit then applied the sharpshooter in the middle of the ring and then released it so he could apply the crippler cross face. Booker T tapped out. Winner and new champion: Chris Benoit
- In the back, Benoit is celebrating with his friends. Rey Mysterio is in the back with Chavo Guerrero & Vickie Guerrero. Benoit tells Rey to win his match not only for himself, Chavo Guerrero & Vickie Guerrero but also for his late friend Eddie Guerrero. Vickie gives Rey a good luck hug before he goes to the ring.
Winner gets a title shot at WrestleMania: Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton - At around the 16 minute mark, Orton tried to hit the RKO. Rey countered and hit a drop kick that put Randy in position for the 619. Rey missed the 619 when Randy moved. Randy cradled Rey while holding the ropes to get the three count and the title shot at WrestleMania. Winner: Randy Orton
World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker - This one has a controversial ending. Both men attempt the tombstone pile driver but Angle reverses it into the ankle lock. The Undertaker escapes and then Angle goes for the Angle Slam but The Undertaker reverses it and applies the triangle choke. Angle is almost unconscious but somehow when the ref raises his hand a third time, Angle somehow turns the move into a pin fall and The Undertaker is pinned. Both men’s shoulders were down and The Undertaker thought that he was the new champion. After the match, The Undertaker shoves Angle into a corner and lets him know that he has his number. The show ends with the two men staring at each. Winner: Kurt Angle
