12/8 TNA:iMPACT! Special

Friday December 9, 2005
This Thursday night primetime special is the final TNA show before the Turning Point PPV on Sunday. This show has received national attention due to the appearance of AJ Pierzynski of the Chicago White Sox. This was a really good show that left me wanting to buy the PPV on Sunday.

Jeff Jarrett and America’s Most Wanted vs The Naturals & Jeff Hardy - AMW brought a table to ringside with the words Team 3D written on it. All 6 men brawl all over the impact zone to start the match off. In a funny spot, Jeff Hardy’s neon body paint turned Jarret’s blonde hair green. The end of this exciting bout came about when The Naturals were about to give Jarrett the Natural Disaster. AMW broke up their attempt and Jarrett hit Chase Stevens with the stroke to get the win. After the match, AMW handcuffed Jeff Hardy to the railing and gave Andy Douglas a 3D through the table they brought to the ring. Winners: Jeff Jarrett & America’s Most Wanted

- The third Rhino vignette was shown. In this one, he discusses his career since leaving the WWE. He ends by telling Jeff Jarrett that he will become NWA Champion again on Sunday.

- In the back the Raven – Larry Zbysko feud continues. Larry threatens Raven with a big challenge at Turning Point. Samoa Joe vs Amazing Red - Alex Shelley comes out to videotape the match. This match is a pure squash match that Joe wins with the rear naked choke. Winner: Samoa Joe

- Tribute to the Chicago White Sox: AJ Styles, Sonjay Dutt & Chris Daniels are in the ring. Announcer Mike Tenay compares the X-division to the White Sox as both are no limits and they both broke out in 2005. Chicago native Bobby Heenan, Dale Torborg (WS strength coach and former WCW star The Kiss Demon), and AJ Pierzynski come to the ring. The group of wrestlers and White Sox exchange gifts. Diamonds in the Rough (Simon Diamond/David Young/Elix Skipper) come out to voice their displeasure that baseball players are on a wrestling show. Simon Diamond makes fun of AJ’s batting average. He tells him to take his .256 batting average and the guy that couldn’t succeed in wrestling so went to baseball out of the ring. Diamond slaps Torborg in the face. A brawl breaks out. The extent of Pierzynski’s involvement is shoving David Young.

- Bobby Roode & Scott D’Amore are interviewed in the back. Roode says that Christian Cage turned his back on Canada at Genesis. Scott D’Amore says that even though at one time they were brothers, his new family is Team Canada, Jeff Jarrett, and America’s Most Wanted.

Konnan & Kip James vs Beasts of Burden - Kip and Konnan dominate the match which ends with Konnan applying the Tequila Sunrise to Sin to get the win. Winner: Konnan & Kip James

Christian Cage vs Bobby Roode w/Coach Scott D’Amore - This is the first TNA match for the former WWE superstar formerly known as Christian. This is a back and forth match that changes its complexion when the ref gets bumped at the 7 minute mark. With the ref knocked out, Monty Brown comes out to attack Christian. Monty accidentally gives the pounce to D’Amore. Then Christian throws Brown out of the ring and uses the hockey stick on Roode before hitting him with the unprettier to get the win. After the match, Brown attacks Christian. He hits the pounce on Christian to soften him up before their match on Sunday. Winner: Christian Cage

- Abyss and James Mitchell are in the ring. Mitchell delivers a very cryptic message to Sabu about the barbed wire match this Sunday. The lights go out and Sabu comes out. When the lights come back on, the ropes are replaced with barbed wire.

- The show ends with an impressive video hyping Sunday’s Turning Point PPV.

Match Results

Jeff Jarrett & America’s Most Wanted beat Jeff Hardy & The Naturals
