Heat & Velocity Results
Saturday November 5, 2005
This weeks Heat and Velocity matches are now online at WWE.com. Despite what they say, these matches were recorded before the Taboo Tuesday PPV. This week features the debut of the post-Hurricane Gregory Helms and the wrestling debut of the WWE’s newest tag team, Chad and James Dick. I recommend watching the Brian Kendrick vs Kid Kash and Mexicools vs William Regal & Paul Birchill Velocity matches. This weeks Heat matches are pretty bad.
HEAT
Val Venis vs Johnny Parisi - Val controls the beginning of the match. The momentum changes when Val is knocked to the floor when he is trying to climb the ropes. After a few moments, Venis gets his second wind when he escapes the abdominal stretch. He follows the half nelson with the money shot to get the pin in less than 5 minutes. Winner: Val Venis
Gregory Helms vs Kevin Martinson - This is Helm’s first match since getting rid of The Hurricane mask. Helm’s is now fighting with an aggressive rule breaking style. This squash match ends when Helms applies a submission maneuver that the announcers fail to name. Winner: Gregory Helms
Kerwin White w/ Nick Nemeth vs Mike Wellington - Another squash match on this edition of Heat. Kerwin pins Wellington after hitting a suplex. Winner: Kerwin White
Shelton Benjamin vs Matt Striker - This is the only match on Heat that doesn’t feature a jobber. Striker and Benjamin have been feuding since Striker abandoned Shelton in a tag team match a few weeks ago. Shelton controls most of this match and a frustrated Striker just leaves the ring to avoid further punishment. Winner via count out: Matt Striker
VELOCITY
Brian Kendrick vs Kid Kash - This is a pretty good fast paced match that features good ring psychology. Kash works on Kendrick’s left leg throughout the match and wins after hitting a moonsault on the injured leg. Winner: Kid Kash
Sylvan vs Joey Ryan - The highlight of this squash match is watching Sylvan mug for the camera after every move he makes. The match ends after Sylvan hits The Showoff on Ryan. After the match, Sylvan stops a female in the front row from taking a second picture of him. Winner: Sylvan
Chad & James Dick vs Justin Prentice and Kevin Antonio - This is the first match for the interestingly named brothers. They have been interfering in recent tag team matches on SmackDown! and last week cost Animal & Heidenreich the tag team titles. They dominate the match and hit a double team maneuver to get the win. This is the second time this weekend that there have been new moves used that the announcers did not give a name to. Winners: Chad and James Dick
The Mexicools (Psychosis & Super Crazy) w/Juventud Guerrera vs William Regal & Paul Birchill - This is a pretty entertaining six minute match that ends when Juventud interferes by kicking Regal into a sunset flip applied by Super Crazy. Winners: The Mexicools
