A title change, the return of a former SmackDown! superstar, a RAW invasion, and the return of midget wrestling highlight a great night of SmackDown! action.
- US Title Match: Champion Chris Benoit vs Booker T w/ Sharmell. The match starts off with a handshake and is pretty even until Benoit misses a suicide plancha. Booker T is in control until Benoit catches his second wind. After Benoit hit the superplex, Sharmell tried to bring a chair into the ring. Benoit stops this but a few seconds later is hit in the groin by Sharmell. Booker T didn't see this and hit the scissor kick to get the pin and become new US Champion. Winner and new champion: Booker T
- Benoit confronts Sharmell & Booker T in the back. Sharmell still doesn't admit what happened and Booker T calls Benoit a sore loser.
- Teddy Long enters the Ortons dressing room where Bob Orton claims to have a bad back. They ask to delay their tag team match but are given the choice of getting a new partner or have a handicap match.
- JBL is interviewed about his music being on RAW and Edge's threat to show up tonight. JBL says he had nothing to do with the RAW event as he doesn't do charity work or play for the B team.
- Matt Hardy vs Simon Dean. This is Matt's return to SmackDown!. Simon Dean has a cast on due to injuries caused by Lashley. Several times throughout the match he tries to use the cast. After about 5 minutes, Matt Hardy hits The Twist of Fate to get the win.Winner: Matt Hardy
- Steve Romero is outside showing the security guards keeping any RAW superstars from showing up tonight
- RAW Rebound - shows the highlights of the Steve Austin and Stephanie McMahon incident.
- Rey Mysterio vs JBL. After several minutes of action, Rey Mysterio is about to hit the 619. Edge's music plays and he hits the ring from the audience. He hits the spear on Mysterio and then is chased through the crowd by JBL. When the cameras return to the ring, Chris Masters has the masterlock applied to Mysterio then beats up several cruiserweights until Hardcore Holly, Animal & Heidenreich come to the ring.Winner: No Contest
- Teddy Long is in the locker room with the people attacked by Masters. Mysterio says he wants Edge and asks Teddy to make it happen.
- Lashley vs Vito - This match came about because of last week's domination of Nunzio by Lashley. This is the first time Lashley has fought a large wrestler but it doesn't matter. Lashley used his power moves to dominate the match and used the Dominator to get the pin. Winner: Lashley
- Palmer Cannon is in Teddy Long's office when he announces the new Junior's Division. If you though that they were going to handle midget wrestling with class, there is no chance of it. One of the wrestlers is Super Porky, an obese midget that was eating a hunk of pork from foil without the use of utensils. Teddy tries to leave the office when the Boogy Man appears at his door and has a flash shoot out of the heat he keeps around his neck. Boogy Man then recites a weird poem.
- Hardcore Match: Sylvan vs Bob Holly: The match starts in the back of the arena. They fight into an elevator when the match goes to commercial. When they come back they are fighting at the top of the arena. They make their way to the ring where Sylvan sets a table up. While he is posing for the camera, Bob Holly hits the Alabama Slam through the table and get s the 3 count.Winner: Bob Holly
- Eddie Guerrero talks to Batista in the locker room before the match about al the mistakes he's made and that he appreciates Batista giving him a second chance.
- Clips of The Rock talking about his new movie Doom
-Batista & Eddie Guerro vs Randy Orton & Ken Kennedy. Before the match Randy announces Kennedy as his partner. The match is back and forth and goes through a commercial break. Batista & Orton are in the ring when Bob Orton comes to the ring to distract the ref. Kennedy tries to hit Batista with the chair but Eddie Guerrero takes the chair shot for his partner. The ref sees this and disqualifies Kennedy & Orton. Teddy ong comes to the ring and announces next week a match between Kennedy, & The Ortons vs Batista, Eddie Guerrero & Roddy Piper.Winners: Batista & Eddie Guerrero via DQ
